"How Do I Know if I'm Saved?"

Salvation will be evident in our lifestyle, as although our lifestyle is not perfect, it is in agreement with the will of God.

Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

This is not a works salvation, but a faith salvation. It is a faith salvation, but if someone truly believes they have become a new creature and a new creature lives in a new way, which is comprised by being conformed to the will of the Father. When a believer does sin, we are broken over our sin. By this we know we are saved, that we keep the commandments.

1 John 2:3-5
3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God[a] is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him.

It is not that we saved ourselves by keeping the commandments, but by keeping them we already know we have been saved. This is not to say we can achieve sinless perfection in this life. We still sin as we still have the flesh. When we sin, though, we feel convicted by the Holy Spirit and we are in a lifestyle of striving to be Christ like and to repent. Not living a consistent lifestyle embracing sin, but being bothered when we do sin is evidence of being saved.

1 John 1:8-2:2
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

2 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

So .... how DOES someone know if they're saved? Your post asks this question, yet you made no attempt to answer it.

How do you actually - here and now - find out? Is there some really obvious sign? Or do you never really know?

"How Do I Know if I'm Saved?" Dunno..maybe there's a site on the Internet that you can plug your name, date of birth and SS number into. Then the answer pops up. But you would probably have to 'subscribe' and give them a credit card number and a 'valid e-mail address'.

first we have to stop saying Jesus is the Father. Because when we say this, we're basically calling Jesus a liar. And why call ourselves followers of Jesus. when we refuse to even believe what he said, (John 5:30 -I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me). And (John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak).

Jesus NEVER taught he was the Father OR God, man did! As for Jesus showed NONE of us will know if we're actually saved, until the end ,(Matt.24:13 -But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved). Meaning we have to try our best to live in a way pleasing to Jehovah God. By following the examples left to us by Jesus. Jesus said this bout his followers ,(John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world). He commanded that his followers ,(“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” Luke 9:23).

MANY christians, if they kept it real with themselves, because Jesus and Jehovah ALREADY knows, are in some ways as the world is living. MANY christians are “lovers of the world” and the “things in the world”. They are “NOT of the Father” -1John 2:15,16). yet!, they ALL believe they ARE SAVED! There's a reason why Jesus said what he said at ,(Matt. 7:22,23). MANY christians believe they can straddle the fence. And when the end come, they'll just be swept up to Heaven. But even if they refuse to believe in the God of Israel, Jehovah, he's NOT one to be played with ,(Gal. 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap).

And Neither is Jesus, sense he'll be the one destroying all that refuse to listen and follow, even “christians” ,(Rev. 6:15-17 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains. And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand)?

So how would we TRULY KNOW, if we're saved?... if we live through the war between, humans and satan, vs. Jehovah God and Jesus during the Great war of Armageddon ,(Rev. 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb). And (16:14-16 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon). Peace

Why should we believe what a man allegedly named jesus is alleged to have said a couple of thousand years ago? Are you suggesting we should believe everything said by anyone, throughout all of human history? Or we to only believe the fanciful stuff? Because there is ALOT besides the jesus stuff.

Go in the off season if it suit you better. Try Priceline for some package deals. What for? Why spirituality is a journey, not a destination. Get your feet moving, left left left right left and all that.

What if we're saved but don't want to go to heaven?

What if a person has real phobias about large crowds, but has a lot of faith in go0d, but doesn't want to go to heaven because of those phobias and other social anxieties?

Would he or she for that matter still be saved?

Do we absolutely have to pick heaven or hell? If the answer is no, then doesn't that violate the principle of having free will?

 

Revelation 21:8 says fraidycats don't get into Heaven. So I wouldn't worry about it.
