The question is like asking Planet Earth to cut off the North only to have South.

Do you advocate cutting any further spending in Iraq? Or on the illegal alien immigration problem?

Does that advice hold true as well when the right does not agree with the actions of the President? If a majority of American voters chose the present pathway to governance and rejected your solutions twice...should the right just accept it or move on/out...????

There is no "far right" in American politics. Politicians like Sarah Palin and Rick Santorum are only "right" by virtue of the fact that the rest of the country is hard left. By any reasonable standard they are the moderates.

Very unusual for one to start conservative and switch to Liberal, but I will take you at your word. Typically that genesis is in reverse. To whatever extent that you are implying that your conservatism was born out of ignorance and with wisdom you evolved into liberalism, I would say that the more typical "start liberal and evolve to conservative" evolution, would tend to favor that wisdom breeds conservatism.

I can honestly say that I have seen lots of elderly ladies with a bluish tint due to their unsuccessful attempts to dye their gray hair, but I have never noticed a blue haired man. Being that I am neither as young as you, nor as old as the people you seem to resent, I feel that I have a perspective that is unique from yours, and my perception is that you are openly expressing hostility towards senior citizens.

I think it sounds noble how you report that you patiently present the errors present in misinformed opinions, however in this particular conversation I have not seen you patiently presenting any errors, instead I have only seen you throw around baseless invectives toward an entire demographic. Perhaps you should practice what you preach?

You seem to have this mistaken impression that I or anyone here has any interest whatsoever in where you work or what you do. Stating your vocation might be relevant and lend greater credibility to your words, if we were discussing promoting the business interests within a community. Unfortunately that is not the topic, and as such, hearing what you do for a living is a colossal waste of time.

The ultimate goal is to demonstrate your education, as opposed to talking about it.

    Voracious appetite for education?....LOL.

Im not exactly sure what is your reasoned opinion on any particular issue, but one thing is for sure, I KNOW you have an MBA. You sure do have the "talk about your education" dialogue down to a science.

Recognize both Parties as Political Religions to keep BOTH AGENDA out of Federal Govt, Congress and Courts.
Stick to the Constitution directly, and you won't need to worry about EITHER PARTY pushing their own platforms that are the equivalent of Political
Beliefs and Religions. If you keep pushing YOUR political beliefs, the other group pushes theirs.

Together, it is like watching Muslims and Hindus fight over whether to push pork and ban beef, or the other way around.
Tell both parties to keep their Political Religions and Agenda out of Federal Govt.
Or else it's "Discrimination by Creed" violating Amendment 14 Equal protections.

Stick to the Constitution where all sides agree. And likewise leave the rest to the people and states to decide.
(And yes, they can each use their own parties but keep that out of the states as well, except policies where they agree!)

What YOU do with your OWN PARTY determines what others do with THEIR PARTY.
So if you want them to stop pushing Agenda you don't believe in, start with your OWN!

In any reasonable society the likes of Obama and Holder would be dragged into the streets and strung up to the nearest tree. I'm not advocating their murder - what you do is your own business. Just don't be surprised when you and your family end up in a FEMA camp.

It is his legal name and a hot-shot law professor certainly knows how to change it if he doesn't like it. My big motivation is the memory of eight years of "Chimp" and Bush-Hitler." I take it and I dish it out. If you don't like Hussein you can blame every bozo who slung "Smirking Chimp" around so prolifigately for eight years.

As for ObamaTax, it will eventually eat up an eighth of the GDP $2-3 trillion per year, and will only benefit moochers.

Funny thing about wars - they always end, sooner or later. But entitlements are very persistent. The Great Depression has been over for seven decades but Social Security is still around and bigger than ever. The Vietnam war has been over for forty years but Medicare and medicaid are still around and have grown to gargantuan proportions. So it will be for ObamaTax. Iraq and Afghanistan will be forgotten but ObamaTax will mean more and more free stuff for moochers and it will last indefinitely.

If Dodd-Frank is so useless, we have a point of agreement. Repeal it and reinstate Glass-Steagal.

Since Hussein Obama has blown all the gains in Iraq, let it go. ISIL and the Iranians can fight it out for all I care. Saddam Hussein is worm-food. I addressed illegal immigration in another post.

Did you guys miss the part where I said we had nowhere else to go?

I like how you both replied with the exact same fail. It kind of betrays a running flaw among the same type of people, don't you think? Not sure if its reading or comprehension, though. Lol!

His legal name is Barack Hussein Obama. You omitted the first name purposefully to attempt to portray the President as subtly Muslim, but deny your own bias if you wish. It's patently obvious.

Ah so right after you deny using his name as a tacit insult, you immediately admit to it. More cognitive dissonance. And congratulations on being a hypocrite for doing exactly what you had an objection to when the partisan shoe was on the other foot. Perhaps you shouldn't behave the same way as those you decry.
It's not about what I like or don't like. It's about your entire message being thrown out due to your obvious religious bigotry and bias. If you're intellectually incapable of having a respectful conversation regarding the President, then you're not really worth engaging.

Again, there is no such thing as Obamatax, so you're going to have to be specific in regards to what legislation you are referring to. I have a feeling you're just parroting some right wing radical talking point with no basis in fact, as you have yet to present any factualy data to accompany your biased perspective. What can you provide to show what this supposed "obamatax" is?

Funny thing about wars, we haven't officially been in one since WWII, yet we are still present in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Japan, Germany etc. etc. etc...Funny thing about those wars. How they never really "end" because they never had a concrete beginning. We have always had a looming "specter", be it communism or terrorism, to keep us frightened enough to fund the military industrial complex.

Entitlements end through legislative action. Wars end when ideologies are purged. Ideas are impossible to fully destroy. Your assertion that entitlements are permanent is very off base.

The great depression was less than a century ago. You really should study cyclical market trends before you start talking about how historic events no longer have significance on our current economic climate. Futhermore Social security wasn't created to pull us out of the depression. It was created so aging Americans could have an additional safety net. It's called a social contract and it's a common practice in democratic governance.

"Under the 1935 law, what we now think of as Social Security only paid retirement benefits to the primary worker. A 1939 change in the law added survivors benefits and benefits for the retiree's spouse and children. In 1956 disability benefits were added."

    Under Republican Eisenhower.

Again, you're confusing these programs with temporary, wartime efforts. Both of these programs were intended to be permanent.

There is no such thing as Obamatax. This isn't even a buzzword used to replace other efforts, such as branding the ACA as Obamacare.

There literally is no such thing as Obamatax. How can something which does not exist, have a greater impact than a 6 trillion dollar military boondoggle?

Right, aside from your obvious adherence to the radical right myth of the rampant welfare queens, your pipedream mentality is fairly easy to see. It's actually quite sad your cognitive dissonance allows you to ignore the cost of the Republican wars and the impact they have had on our nation's international standing, export capability, culture and economic prosperity.

    I'm all for Glass-Steagal. I'm a Warren supporter.

Over the years I have found the opposite to be true.

I have observed the opposite. You will need to provide statistical sources to support your assertion, as anecdotal evidence indicates multiculturalism and empathy are born of interaction with multiple cultures and peoples. Multiculturalism and empathy are tenants of the progressive left, not the right, which tends to favor a ego-centric, randian perspective.

Hmmm, perhaps you should spend more time at your local Chamber of Commerce.

If you choose to have this perspective, that's fine, but you would be wrong. My grandmother is a senior citizen and I love her very much. This doesn't stop her from expressing openly racist feelings regarding Barack Obama, which I take exception to. But I blame Fox News rhetoric for it, more than her, as she is 90 years old and grew up during the great depression.

Such as? It's interesting that you would say this, then not present actual evidence if it is so easily found. Also, I notice your tone is becoming more and more aggressive as your response becomes more personally focused and less about the ideas I have presented.

And I do not cast invective statements toward demographics, I do analyze the collective response of political parties, however. You will seldom see me cast all conservatives under the same umbrella, but I will cast the GOP under the same, as they are a party with specific policies. Perhaps you should examine whether you are a partisan Republican, or a staunch Conservative, before making claims such as the above.

Until you can demonstrate that I have not practiced what I preach, perhaps you shouldn't cast baseless accusations.

Ah, now we're getting very personal, aren't we? My words must have hit an emotional chord with you. I provided my experience so you would understand why I have the views I have. If you choose to ignore the details, in order to view me as a strawman you can hate more easily, that is your personal flaw. I certainly don't think you should be making claims about what others on this site have an interest in, as you do not speak for them.

It certainly wasn't a waste of time for you the first time you responded to my comments. Now you've referenced my career again. So, please excuse me if I don't take your personal insults seriously. You're just lashing out in anger now, and it's quite easy to see.

I believe my words demonstrate the level of discourse I am capable of, as your words demonstrate the capabilities you have.

I think we can all see which of us is more respectful, more open to dialogue and more eloquent.

I offered my perspective on why the right wing is losing ground, and I offered my credentials to help people get an idea of what I experience daily, so they might better empathize with me. If you take issue with this, you're welcome to ignore it. Instead, you did exactly what I stated is causing the decline of the right wing. You attacked me, without even knowing my opinions on a given issue.

I hope you come to realize how ironic your post actually is.

Or, you could be a patriot and call him the President, even though you disagree with his politics. But it's really not a big deal to me. It just makes it very apparent who is a partisan and who is actually interested in productive discourse.

Channe, have you considered simply doing what leftists usual do and outlaw all political parties except the party of the Glorious Leader. Castro doesn't have these problems. Mao and Stalin didn't. Pol Pot didn't. Hugo Chavez didn't. Surely you can follow in their footsteps.

Totalitarianism is a conservative philosophy. The "communism" of China and Russia is really an oligarchical capitalism, just like America. They just chose to call it communism as the economic philosophy was gaining political momentum at the time.

Following the revolution in China, many who were formerly commoners became political and economic powerhouses. Much like the French revolution. It was just a change of guard, the same cultural politics remain in China.

It is a massive economic beast. It would have become more powerful than America if they had allowed their people the liberal freedoms America provided to its citizenry. (the white Europeans at least)

The Chinese government did a very good job keeping the liberal aspects of communism under their totalitarian conservative yoke.

Your view that high speed rail is worth it is factually wrong. Prove me wrong, since you're so emotionless and calculated it should be easy. And no 2 minute google searches to find an advocate for high speed rail. I want your own words.
