COVID relief and the 15 dollar minimum wage should be two separate bills as neither has a thing to do with each other. But our elected officials in Washington are always placing things into bills that don't have anything at all to do with each other. It's not right, it isn't ethical, but since when has anyone in Washington ever worried about what was right and ethical when they can get what they want by subterfuge and hidding things in bills that have nothing to do with each other.

COVID relief should be just that, COVID relief. Raising the minimum wage should be just that, raising the minimum wage. No way should these two things be in the same bill. It's plain dishonest, but have you ever met an honest politician? Okay, rhetorical, I already know the answer.

    Which title proves your case?

The one that mentions high taxes, or the other one that mentions high taxes?

Somebody already posted two articles on this thread that explained to you why.

Just keep repeating that nobody can prove it and live in a world of denial if you wish.

Yes. High taxes are a result of liberal left policies due to:

    - collectivism over individualism
    - unionization and pensions
    - reliance on government and programs

I'll summarize for you, because I think I can still save you.

That's about, eh, 10 paragraphs in. I can keep going if you'd like...

So, at this point, is there any confusion as to why NY, CA, IL are losing their wealthier, more productive, higher tax paying residents for lower taxed states?

    Anything at all?

I'm more than happy to help you get through this.

I do think it would be smart for the Fed minimum wage to be localized somehow, like there are regional rates. I could see a 25 dollar an hour in big cities, but a 12 in the country.

I am of the opinion that people will mostly be agreeable to paying higher taxes if they feel like they are getting something of equal value out of it. That so many Americans are so anti-tax suggests to me they do not see value in the government and its services as is.

I think the people are tired of all the handouts to the mega corps, tax cuts for the rich ect....

especially then they find out people like Trump are paying less tax per dollar earned then they are
