How silly would it be to get infected at this point for purely political reasons!

In about a month, the vaccine will be available to anybody who wants it. Probably even children. How dumb do you have to be to get infected now, just because of political ideology. Especially to those of the W.W.T.D. (what would Trump do?) mentality (Forum rules compel me to clarify that I'm not necessarily referring to anybody in this Forum).

We now know that if you're infected, you are protected from becoming infected again for only a few months. But the sequels of Covid can last for months... maybe years... very often your whole life.

So how idiotic is it to not wear a mask now? To not follow CDC guidelines before you are fully vaccinated?

And, just so you know, myself and my family are all vaccinated and fully immune now. So don't give me the idiotic "you go ahead and hide if you're afraid". I don't care if some dopes are out on a mission to prove Darwin right on the theory that those with less intelligence will be weeded out by natural selection (again as per forum rules: present company excluded). It might even be a good thing, in the long run, to replace, especially those who refuse to get vaccinated, with hard working refugees from Central America. While at the same time reducing the Trump-voter demographics. But in the short term it will still harm the economy. So long as a large number of the population is vulnerable, the economy will not fully recover.

My advice: don't fall victim to natural selection. And help this country steer away from a financial crisis that will hurt you more than it will hurt Biden's chances of getting re-elected.

I wear a mask in stores to help others feel comfortable. I wear a mask walking into bars before taking it off at the table. Kinda dumb.

I got the vaccine because I wanted to and so I don't have to care whether anyone around me is prone to contract a disease that kills no one but the most vulnerable.

As a society, we should have protected the most vulnerable and let everyone else live normal lives. Instead, we dumped COVID positive people on the most vulnerable and destroyed the lives of children who are at little or no risk from COVID.

 

Democrats and dictators love them some optics. Like forcing folks to continue wearing masks, even after they have been vaccinated. It shows obedience, and frankly, that's all they really care about.

I don't think we'll be out of this crisis this year. At this point, your commentary is entirely unnecessary. If I have been vaccinated against COVID wearing the mask doesn't protect others from me, does it? What protection for others me being vaccinated produce to others? More, we know the masks are mostly ineffective, lots of study data that demonstrates this. The real problem is folks, again like you, who have decided that they want to decimate our culture, economy, and frankly institutions in the name of your own vainglory. The CDC have published the data that fully vaccinated folks do not carry the virus. Why do you dispute this?

 

They have made no such proclamation. There is not enough evidence to support that. There might be in the future, but not at present.

 

I have a strong immune system and do not need a vaccine. I don't get sick. Also, I don't trust pharm products as there are many class action lawsuits against companies selling products deemed "safe and effective".

I do appreciate you participating in this clinical trial and will look at results. So far, side effects include smugness and righteousness.

I think it would be ridiculous for anyone to contract the virus at this point - for political reasons aside. We know all about the virus - more than we know about most things. And we know how to stay safe. That people will blatantly ignore those things is just ridiculous.

 

In my case, the side effects included sore muscles, chills and a sense that I'm actually doing something that will allow me to get back to normal life, sooner rather than later. No smugness or righteousness because I don't impose my choice on anyone else.

People who are asymptomatic are among the biggest spreaders. If they take precautions (mask, distancing, etc) we can say that they do it inadvertently. If they refuse to vaccinate, they are the problem. This is not about you. It's about the people who are around you. It's also about the nation's economy. The more pigheaded people who refuse to vaccinate because they don't understand how statistics work, the more time it will take to return to normal.

While India with 1.2 billion people with horrific living conditions and not near the medical support per person as we do reports 86 Covid deaths per 1 million population but New York reports over 2000 Covid deaths per 1 million population, that isn't because of population density. It is mathematically impossible for the US (4%) of the worlds population to have 28% of all Covid deaths globally. If it was, why aren't you screaming at the leftist idiots terrorizing their cities with hundreds of thousands out protesting for 8 months?

And where is your objection to Cuomo ordering retirement homes to take Covid infected patients killing millions of retired people?

Cases continued to increase for several factors. One of them being Trump rallies. Also Trump loyalists who refused to wear masks... And... oh yeah, of course regular masks are not 100% effective. But that last one is too obvious for you not to know, right? Or didn't you know that?

 

There isn't much solid reason to not follow these minimum precautions. Doesn't seem like asking a lot more than a smile in the morning. There are people who just don't want to do that.

As for Cuomo... couldn't care less about him. Even your "killing millions of people" did make me laugh a bit. But I don't live in NY and I said weeks ago that he should resign. Not only for his mishandling of the pandemic but, much more so, because of his other "adventures".
