I don't care if the bill says Service Included, I am not sure that the money will reach the staff so I use the plastic for the reckoning and hand the waiter/waitress the tip in cash. But these days hardly anyone uses cash. So come the cashless society, how are we going to tip without the cash to do so?
it'll be added to the bill, based upon your percentage choice... and split amongst the staff not just to your specific server. many places already pool tips, even when you give it to your server, they must put it in the 'kitty' to be split at end of shift... the bigger issue is, buying something from your neighbor or garage/yard sale... they'll be forced sales taxes and forced reported additional income for the seller... how 'bout giving your kid a few bucks to go to the movies or an allowance? they'd find a way to tax that also... way too much oversite going cashless...
Society will still require cash to work because not everyone has access to a credit card. But if there was a chance of no more cash? Prepaid debit cards maybe?
Why would you tip a robot? I don't think we'll be cashless before servers have been replaced with automation.
Likely never. Cash is simply to handy for small purchases. And until a society is completely crime free, it will also never happen. Can you imagine somebody going to buy drugs or hire a prostitute with a credit card? Buying something they know is stolen with a credit card?
