    He wouldn't do well. Reagan believed that government was the problem... yet his administration grew the size and scope of government.

    Reagan was a figurehead... like all modern Presidents.

    By current GOP standards, Reagan is a raging socialist, so he'd finish dead last, way behind everyone else in the field.

    Especially bad would be the fact that Reagan didn't display a bitter, sneering hatred of all Democrats, and didn't display open bigotry against the east and west coasts. That would instantly disqualify him in the eyes of most Republicans, because the Republican base demands the hate.

    Reagan was an actor and played his role as president well, inspired confidence in his people, and relied on his supporting cast of characters (from the typical pool of controllers) to make the decisions. He spoke "conservative" rhetoric, but didn't really follow through. He happened to come along during a good economic time for America, like Clinton.

    a prime interest rate of around 20%

    gas lines around the corner

    double digit inflation and interest rates

    near double digit unemployment

    and Carter says we need to wear a sweater and conserve energy

    Yes, and now we have Carter 2.0 in the WH dragging down the economy like Carter did

    Do you at least know who made our culture what it is? The left wingers. Their cultural Marxism came from Europe, where the culture is even more toxic. The left wingers encouraged the sewer culture, with vulgar stuff, obscenities in art, all with the purpose of destroying the moral structure of capitalist society. They manipulated the rebels and hippies, the irreverent idiots and pot smokers "flower children", all that junk. In fact, if you check out some of the stuff published on the archives of the Communist Party in Russia and their agents in other countries, from the 1950s and 1960s, you'll see that this was their aim. To destroy a free society through promoting vices, immorality and corruption in the culture.

    America was not always like this. And it does have a culture. It's just that it's not promoted on television and in the movies. But the alternative old traditional American culture is still here, thank God.

    B-grade actor.

    Married twice or was it the woman he married.

    Raised taxes 11 times

    Just like GW he allowed Americans to die without catching the perpetrator.(actually, republicans do not care about Americans being killed, so he may have a slight chance.)

    Every time I'm told about how I wouldn't vote for Reagan now, I feel like watching his a time for choosing speech. I love that speech, I've probably watched it 100 times.
