Think of society and humanity as a wave, like any wave it has it's peaks and troughs. This larger wave that encompasses humanity has smaller waves attributed to left and right paradigms. If a sufficiently large group of particles within the wave gets out of sync it causes disturbance that could potentially magnify to destroy the entire human wave function resulting in extinction. Or perhaps the wave could re stabilize into another wave resulting in evolutionary change. Which one are we about to undertake.

Sounds like an overly complicated, fruitless way to think about things.

Recursive simplicity create astounding complexity. It is the beauty of the paradox. How can something so simple iterated over and over create something so complex.

Yeah, but your version provides no aid in understanding civilizations. You've just slapped a label saying "wave function" on society.

What's the difference between your reasoning and saying, for instance, "humanity is like a mosquito. If you squat it, it dies."?

Its an underlying understanding of the cycle of life, how divergence from the frequency produces extinction or evolution. How we can identify or predict the beneficial societal evolutions and mark out the extent or boundaries of this wave we are riding so that we can adjust civilization accordingly with minimal disturbace ( nuclear war, world wars ).

What I'm hearing there is "Let's figure out what is going to happen beforehand, so we can deal with it.". While that's good, it's nothing new, huge amounts of people have been doing that since the dawn of civilization. What I wonder is why liking humanity to a wave influences that. Why call it "divergence from the frequency" when we might as well call it "bad stuff"?

The difference would be that the rise and fall of civilizations/empires/successful nations is a Sin Wave.

He is suggesting that we look at that Sin Wave as a Harmonic, and see the Stock Market rising and falling predictably.
We see Conservatism vs Liberalism waving through time.

The Big Picture will bear out that the rise and fall is dominated over time by Patriarchy Vs Matriarchy.

How is that a good reason? The TV screen gives off light, but that doesn't mean we have to solve quantum mechanical equations to watch Ally McBeal.

if you know the frequency of the wave you can program it to fit your will.

Is it though? How do you produce a sine wave from the rise and fall of civilizations? I know of no civilization that has produced a sine wave on its own, and if you combine several of them together, you'll probably not end up with a sine wave because civilizations will overlap, expand in different geographical directions, experience different events and so on. To me, it sounds like an oversimplification since the idea will often break down for different reasons, especially since actual experts are quite able to do their work without introducing this wave function.

Sure, there are several things that conform to harmonic motion, like stock markets, but what's stopping us from saying "some things do and some things don't" instead of introducing new concepts in areas where it doesn't conform to reality? Why do we want to say "Humanity is a wave function" instead of "stock markets act a bit like wave functions under [some conditions]"?

Life works on a binary system. Things such as life and death, right and left, up and down, light and dark are all functions that could be represented as a wave. The functions themselves have measureable identities. If the binary life form is plotted through time it would undeniably look like a wave function. Every experience is one of dichotomies, we cannot escape it.

Matriarchies lead first to Democracy which grant first more liberty to everyone, soon to trickle down to women.
Then, liberalism turns democracy into socialism, which distinguishes the Cultural Institution from the earlier patriarchies.

The end comes when the full fledged Matriarchy reaches the height of sexual immorality that can be earmarked by the open acceptance of Homosexuals who in that environment, absent the expression of the instinctual homophobic male power that normally represses it.
The end is political gridlock, economic stagnation, a mercenary military, rise and dominance of atheism, and a Political Correctness which allows lies to repress truths which are essential to the control of crime.

Either the failed system recognizes the need for a strong father figure, and allows a dictator to take chat0rge, or neighboring patriarchies just breach the walls and extinguish the flame of a previous successful society.

That no Democracy has even existed longer than 250 years give one the Frequency of the wave.

This is an excellent summation of the cycle of successful societies.

You're using words that you haven't defined. Are you saying that if we plot death over time, it would be a wave (and how do you define wave function?)? I'm fairly certain it would be exponential with plenty of irregularities. When you're plotting "binary life form" against time, what value are you plotting, the number thereof?

    ... how a Sin Wave...?

    Here is the over view.
My last post above explains how this picture of the past rise and Fall of Empires in the West has transpired:

Please label your axes, I have no idea what it is you're plotting. And it doesn't look like any sine function I've ever seen.

    Hmmm,...

It is more a summation of the rise of great societies that never have been successful at maintaining their success, but have always lost everything at the end.
The worst of it is that the all the warnings and advice of those people who tried to avoid the fall is also lost, so no learning every has taken place.

Essentially, successful societies are rich, and dominated by a feminist matriarchy that does not heed the statesmen who know the enemies aboard so well, and realize that sooner or later they will run out of other peoples' money and be aced with massive barbarians within accustomed to getting their daily "bread" by government handouts that no longer comes to them, and there is not enough "cake" to save Marie Antoinette.

    The X-axis represents Time.
The Y-axis is a measure of the rise and then fall of the society.

And how is the time and "rise and fall" of a civilization determined?

    Right.
Once we recognize this we can see that societies go through an process of life and death, and that they need "medicine" in order to survive.
    The disease itself is success.
The kids get fat like the society itself, and the next generations continue to assume and take for granted that what they do has no consequences.

Your observation is not useful unless we use it to save the present society or at least, the very least, use the coming failure of Pan-America as an empirical experiment that the Global Village will see as empirical proof that Family is the basic foundation for longevity and eternal life.

Unless we take note that sexual promiscuity teaches the young people not to marry, and that Single Mothers are an acceptable way to raise 50% of the kids as bastards whom see no male authority in the fatherless families, this cycle will continue.

No, I understand the labels in the plot but, for instance, Egypt is marked as one point in time, despite lasting as an empire for quite some time, including several cultural high points. You can see for yourself that the times you have quoted do not align to the plot. Also, you write that the y axis is the "rise and fall" of civilizations, but what aspect of this rise and fall is plotted and how is it measured?

Wars help to maintain human vigor and advance human knowledge. A state of constant peace would be disastrous for humanity.
