If we're going to get a group of languages together to represent Earth's population, I'm not sure why you picked those last 4.

I think there should be a few of the core European languages because they are present in much of the world anyway from when the Europeans had colonies all over the world.

Some of the European powers are, well, powers that lead much of the international trade and influence, and people in the know are going to learn them to be able to interact with them and get their hands in some of that pie.

So defiantly English and German, and maybe French and Spanish.

Then you definitely need some representation from around the world. So maybe Chinese, Russian, and Arabic.

Finally, there are some regional allies of the USA who have high technology and should be represented due to their contribution to science and technology. Namely Japanese, Hebrew, and Korean.

So here is my list of the top 10 languages:
    1. English
    2. Spanish
    3. German
    4. French
    5. Chinese
    6. Russian
    7. Arabic
    8. Japanese
    9. Hebrew
    10. Korean

No. I don't know how many languages there currently are, but requiring any of them to be educated really makes no sense. And that short screed doesn't give any rational reason why it should.

Wouldn't it make more sense to weaken the EU? Why do all those countries bow to a higher power they created themselves? No good reason and I think it is destined for failure.
