It's not so much that I mind that neoZionist stormtroopers should be fed sushi whilst those that pay go hungry. That they eat subsidized sushi alone won't kill Palestinian children. Feed them sushi if you like- but don't feed fascism with F35s, tanks and white phosphorus.

There is no debate in the US system because those that control debate are Israel Firsters.

Obesity is a major health problem in America. Hunger is not.

And your threat title is in error.

Basically, U.S. aid has been used to help fund retraining of former soldiers, including as chefs.

And I'm wondering if you could explain why you think the American media are led by "Israel firsters"? Several news networks and their commentators seem fairly hostile to Israel and Israeli interests.

Government controls debate, not the media. The media are second-stringers.

Given all the many threads about how awesome Israel's economy is, why isn't Israel donating money to help the financially struggling US? Don't Israelis like America?

If you should visit the United States some day you would know better.

Israel's economy is tiny compared to the United States.

I agree. No foreign aide to anyone, ever.

A li'l lesson in history, perhaps?

{QUOTE} Israel did not begin to receive large amounts of assistance until 1974, following the 1973 war, and the sums increased dramatically after the Camp David agreements. Altogether, since 1949, Israel has received more than $100 billion in assistance. In 1998, Israel offered to voluntarily reduce its dependence on U.S. aid and over the next ten years economic assistance was gradually phased out. Arab states that have signed agreements with Israel have also been rewarded. Since signing the peace treaty with Israel, Egypt has been the second largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid ($1.6 billion in 2010 compared to Israel’s $2.7 billion). Jordan has also been the beneficiary of higher levels of aid since it signed a treaty with Israel (increasing from less than $40 million to $693 million in 2010). The multibillion dollar debts to the U.S. of both Arab nations were also forgiven.

After the Oslo agreements, the United States also began providing aid to the Palestinians.

    Since 1994, Palestinians have received more than $2.9 billion in U.S. economic assistance via USAID projects—more than from any other donor country. In 2010, alone, financial aid exceeded $500 million. More than 60 percent of the PA’s GNP comes from U.S., European Union, UN, and World Bank funds. The PA receives an average of $1,000 per year for every Palestinian citizen from foreign sources. {QUOTE}

So, the question that begs to be asked... WTF are Palestinians doing with all these money Americans are giving them?

Well its no surprise that Israel, like every other nation, provides benefits to its veterans. What is surprising is that someone would make such an issue out of it.

If the IDF kills some kid throwing rocks, make that an issue.

Stop talking about stupid stuff like this.

Then Israel's tiny economy can donate money to America to demonstrate its friendship. Why must the American tax payer donate money to Israel when you argue that Israel's economy is so awesome?

That's great, but why does Israel, with its "awesome economy", need to use US tax payer money for such?

If you lived in Palestine? How about feeding your family for a week? Including your livestock?

You think? Palestinians are by far the biggest receipients of foreign aid on per capita basis.

I don't see Israel on that list. Why not-after all they're recipients of around $3 billion of US 'aid', are they not? Now, divide 3 billion by 8 million and work out the per capita sum...

This is not a point - we know, Israel helps its veterans, it's in OP. WTF do Palestinians do with all that dough we give them?

Contrary to popular wisdom, the United States does not simply write billion dollar checks and hand them over to Israel to spend as they like. Only about 25 percent ($694 million of $2.775 billion in 2010) of what Israel receives in Foreign Military Financing (FMF) can be spent in Israel for military procurement. The remaining 75 percent is spent in the United States to generate profits and jobs. More than 1,000 companies in 47 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have signed contracts worth billions of dollars through this program over the last several years.

    What was that about sushi?
