You have a chance to join a new political party. What core beliefs you want as a platform?
    Mine are:
    1. Balanced Budget
    2. Single Payer Health care
    3. Campaign finance reform- Strict corporate, Union, 3rd party donations
    4. Legalization of Drugs the taxes raised from the selling of Pot (and taxed) earmarked for education and treatment of addiction
    5. Social safety net at the federal poverty level.
    6. Vouchers for education at all levels through Bachelors - This does not mean 100% of required funds for college. but funding for two years of Community colleges and funding equal to avg state college tuition only. Funding done by credit hour completed.

Yes the government already made a mess of the drug prohibition as it made a mess of the alcohol prohibition 90 years ago. Right now the prohibition on drugs has created a world of drug cartels where thousands are killed yearly in Mexico border communities, thousands more killed in our own streets, thousands more die with fentanyl laced drugs. Addicted people wait for months to get into treatment. Thousands of our poorest citizens are jailed as they pursue an easy way out, creating lifetime drains on our society as they can't get jobs with criminal records. Just say no does not work well enough to use it as the standard for addressing the health and crime impact that prohibition has reeked on our society.

Weak and troubled people will continue to succumb to quick "fixes" for problems as they do now regardless of legality.
