I almost just ran over 5 black girls this evening .....

My girlfriend and I were driving down a windy 35mph road. We are turning the corner and I had to hit the brakes hard. Why ? Because 5 black girls - around the ages of 14-17 were walking on the street the wrong way. They laughed as I hit the breaks, but had to dodge out of the way. Most of them had music buds in their ears. My girlfriend was in the passenger side and pulled down the window and said, "What the hell are you doing ?" To which they responded, "Shut up, you white (*)(*)(*)(*)(*). Whatcha gonna do about it ?!"

I rolled my window down too and said, "You're impressing no one. You're gonna hurt yourselves or worse, someone else."

They just laughed and said, "Shut up, (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)." (I'm brown skinned, bald, with a black goatee and I presume they thought I was black."

My girlfriend is still fuming mad over this but I told her that I don't expect much from thug-black culture anymore. There is a primitive manner in which they carry themselves - no regard for the safety of others or themselves. Everything is a joke to them.

My question is - has the black community always been so aloof, and if not - what caused this, and are they fixable ?

I know the mods are itching to close this thread - BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT. It talks about the politics and culture of black America which led to these girls tonight. I wonder what their home life is like. If they are willing to risk themselves like they did tonight, and risk my and my girlfriend's safety, why presume they will get better with age ?

 

Color may not have anything to do with it. They are young and stupid.

i agree that white kids are capable of doing something this stupid, but it happens more often in the black community - in my opinion.

 

If you believe certain cultures are better then others you will be called racist even though culture crosses skin color shades.

White trash teen mom girls got a lot in common with those girls you saw in the streets. It is the culture your party pushes on America and celebrates. Embrace the irresponsibility!

 

It's a product of capitalism and too much freedom.

 

We have a society that doesn't parent their children anymore. That's the main problem. Until that changes this kind of crap is going to happen regularly. And JohnnyMayo is right, it's white people too. All I have to do is look at my own aunt to see that. Her idea of parenting is constantly yelling at her own kids instead of showing patience and teaching them. Instead they don't listen to a damn thing and are uncontrollable. And one of them is an adult now. Sad really.

When we decide to start taking responsibility for our children again then the culture will change into something positive. Aside from that glad that an accident was avoided and that you and them are okay.

 

No. It is the age we live in with people not being careful because they are distracted by cellphones and ipods.

I don't plan on winning a Darwin award so when I am walking I have one bud in one ear and the other listening for traffic. Never know when a car is going to hop the curb, run a light etc.

I also wait until its safe to text.

Young people think they are invincible. I saw a teen get run over and killed a few years a go. The head was barely attached. Not something I'll ever forget and I'll never be caught off guard.

It's all races and cultures. I drive a cab in Las Vegas, and I see it every day. They do get killed, and yet, just 300 feet away, it's right back to the same thing. Before the pedestrian bridges were built at all of the major intersections on the strip, the annual average was 36 dead and over 500 crippled every year. Cars tend to break pedestrians' legs.
I believe that this is where the German expression "Dumkopf" comes from. People mindlessly wander all over the road with no more intelligence than cattle.

They could have been black, white, brown, green, or anything. They key here is their age.

Little teenagers out at night, traveling in a group. Each trying, consciously or sub consciously, to shed the bonds of being a child. They are rebelling. They are giving the finger to the world as they take their first steps to adulthood. This is normal. It is normal because adulthood is not only about acting responsibly but adulthood is also about acting independently. When you "scolded" them they acted out defiantly. This is simply children breaking the bonds of childhood. Situation normal.

Rue the day when our teenagers aren't defiant. Rue the day when our teenagers don't rebel.

We can complain about the youth all we want but the fact is we need youth that we can complain about. Without our youth "acting out" and doing stupid things our youth will never learn to be independent. If children never learn to defy adults at some point then they will remain children forever.

It is good to point out the stupid things that teenagers do. This will help them to figure out life as they take their first steps to adulthood. But we shouldn't use stories such as these as a way to start thinking that our youth have gone insane and our future is therefore bleak. Teenagers should be defiant. And older adults should admonish them for their defiance. This is simply the way of things.

I don't worry about the youth of this country. The kids are all right.

I understand being irritated, and I understand that 5 girls who were black treated you badly because of your color- but I don't understand why you think that the entire black community is too blame.

 

How do you walk down a street the wrong way? Even if you are black.

 

It's generally a good idea to walk in the direction of oncoming traffic so that you can see the cars approaching and are better able to take evasive action in case they don't see you.

 

And wear headlights, I assume.

 

Brightly colored or reflective clothing is recommended.

When I was a young Black man on the streets of a major American metropolis I was made aware of just how privileged most White people were.

They had the luxury of creating their own fantasy reality.

They lived in a bubble where they could believe anything was as they imagined it. And unless reality burst their bubble they could go on indefinitely imagining life was as they saw it from inside the bubble.

You must live a fabulous life to believe as you do.

But, in the interest of being real, I gotta tell you, the kids are not alright.

The kids are being taught the Progressive mindset and that spells doom for us all.

That was my thought. It has been like that for as long as I can remember.

 

Black skin is actually a danger: when driving at night i almost killed a black man dressed in dark walking a little off the sidewalk ( really didn't see him until i was in front ). That's an issue but on the other hand everyone would feel impolite to say a black to not dress in black and walk near the street, plus we have the liberal anti racism agenda pushing. So we have a paradox where some blacks could be saved but can do anything about it because of politically correct.

 

i was almost attacked the other day because this guy didnt know i called ahead and was served first and he had to wait. the guy just assumed it was because i was white when he saw me outside he got right up in my face to give me (*)(*)(*)(*) about my skin color and how he had to wait. id hate to call it ignorance but theres really no other word for it.
