I also read in another article that his hair was dyed orange like the Joker. "James Holmes, the 24-year-old accused of killing 12 people and injuring dozens more at an early showing of the 'Dark Knight Rises' in Aurora, Colorado, told police "I am the Joker," ABC News' reports.New York City's Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says the suspect had painted his hair red, according to the Associated Press. Kelly, who said Friday that he had been briefed about the shootings, also said that Holmes called himself the Joker." I, sadly, predicted this on the threads this morning. It reminded me too much of TDK when the Joker allows himself to be taken by the police.
Heath Ledger is to blame for this. Honestly, much like the Loughner case, we are dealing with mental illness, here. That's why the mother said "you've got the right person". She must have known he was capable of something like this.
He was another loser like Jared Loughner and the Virginia Tech Shooter. They are not "insane" but sociopaths that hate almost everyone. There was too much planning involved for him to "not know what he was doing was wrong." He dressed up like the villian on the show. Used a gas mask like him and shot people like him (Bane). He also took time to booby trap his apartment because he either hated the tenants there, or cops, or both. What is so sad, is that some stupid @#%$& judge will probably get him off by saying he is unfit for trial. There is no reason not to execute this enemy of mankind.
I've been hearing about him being involved with Occupy and the Black Bloc. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_bloc) http://www.bob-owens.com/2012/07/pi...over-how-the-group-was-portrayed-in-the-film/ I dunno if it's true, but it's floating about.
You've never heard of the criminally insane? You can be intelligent and crazy. Think Hannibal With that level of intelligence at work, I would say they are fit for trial.
That's what I thought. Maybe the Police Chief is. I was wondering how he supposedly bought a ticket and came right in with the other patrons. Evidently a lot of them dressed up as characters.....so his outfit wouldn't have drawn notice. This was definitely well planned.
If she knew about his collection of guns and gases....coupled with what she obviously knew about his mental status....she should have reported him to the police. At least they could have checked out his apt and maybe avoided all this.
I'm thinking more the Jack Nicholson version. Wait a sec, his last names was "Holmes" ... how do we know this wasn't a Katie Holmes fan still upset she was pulled from the franchise?
Do they have capital punishment in Colorado? If not....please send him to Texas. We'll take care of him.
This dude is sad. Why didn't someone help him? It sounds like his mom is not even surprised at this. Delusional and acted on his false reality.
We don't know any of that for sure. Let's not speculate until we have something more concrete. The answers will come. I had heard the group was portrayed as the villians in the movie. But we'll see if that has anything to do with his motives.
Loughner was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic.... unmedicated, they can be very dangerous. The Virginia Tech killer, I don't remember what his problem was... The insane/sociopaths are often very intelligent and will take time to methodically plan their crimes..... look at Hitler. Look at Bundy. Look at the BTK and Green River killers. It took law enforcement around 30 yrs to catch the last 2..... And where do you get the idea that this type of person w/o a conscience would care that what they planned to do and then did was wrong?
AND listen to this..... "A syllabus that lists Holmes as a student at the medical school shows that he may have taken a class in which he studied topics as diverse as substance abuse, schizophrenia, depression and other disorders." http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/20/us/colorado-theater-suspect-profile/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnn "James Eagan Holmes, suspected of carrying out the Colorado movie theater shooting while wearing an outfit of black ballistic gear, was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate student in neuroscience who started buying his four weapons legally in May, about the time his grades fell and he began the process of dropping out of school." Here's what one of his professors said about his last few months of graduate school: "The Washington Post reported that a neuroscience faculty member at Colorado who said he taught Holmes said he immediately thought of Holmes when he heard that a student was accused of the shooting. He was “very quiet, strangely quiet in class,” and said he seemed “socially off.” Holmes did very poorly on his comprehensive exams last semester, the instructor told the Post, and the school was considering placing him on academic probation, but was not considering expulsion." A woman who knew him in high school said this about him: "A woman who said she knew him in high school told NBC News that Holmes was a good person, but oddly always rooted for the villains in superhero movies." http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2...graduate-school?chromedomain=openchannel&lite
He came in dressed normally and left after 10 minutes. He propped open the emergency exit when he left, went where ever and got dressed, got the guns and came back in through the exit. He bought all the guns plus the automatic weapons with 90 rounds at good ole Bass Pro Shop. The Gangster Squad trailer will no longer be shown before the Batman movie in theaters. http://huff.to/NDciI4

Oooh.....wow. I can certainly see why. Can we ask now.....have these movies gone a bit too far? That kind of violence seem over the top. And to think that people took their babies and 6 years old to it....AND AT 12AM, to boot. Where's the common sense anymore?
