    I am a Korean War Vet and enlisted rather than be drafted. Served four years
    I retired as a Sales Manager for The Principal Financial Group.

    I never said it had any thing to do with political debates nor did I say that I wish to debate. I will discuss but not debate, same for religion.

    Double good on you, sir. Mine is a military family; dad retired after 20 years, brother is finishing up 25 and I retired after 21 years.

    Hope you are enjoying retirement! I have a second career in which I'm about to retire in a 2-3 years at age 64 or 65. Although my wife and I live in Texas, we plan on heading north in a fifth wheel during the hottest months July-September.

    Ok fair enough! Discussions are good. Nice to welcome another Veteran. I am a Vietnam Vet technically retired from the Air Force and retired from the insurance industry. Which branch did you serve in if you don't mind saying?

    Good to have you Korean War Vets around at least you are older than us Vietnam Vets.

    "Stripes", Bill Murray movie. Shipboard life really sucked so, while we watched a few action movies, comedies were king, all on VHS tape, of course: Stripes, Caddy Shack, Airplane, Blues Brothers and Robin Williams at the Met were in constant rotation.

    Hello and welcome. We have a lot in common. I'll be 84 the end of this month. I'm married and retired from insurance in 1989. I enlisted in the Army Airborne in 1952. Luckily served most of my time as a Rakkasan in Japan. I too enjoy a good sense of humor but there's a good number of folks here that will disagree with me on that.

    Mechanics of all specialties were all part of the team. In CH-46s, our crew chief was also a mechanic who flew with us.

    Back when I was active duty the Air Force started putting the name of the Crew Chief of certain aircraft as "The aircraft id owned by SSgt Ernest Eagle Eye ...." so even non flying chiefs felt recognized as "owning" the aircraft. All of us on the ground crew felt that the plane the flying crew the pilot were us and when we lost a few we lost family...

    Another insurance guy. Good to know !! I just retired 5 years ago. I volunteer at the local VA so see a lot of Korean War Vets these days since they are at that age where the old injuries are causing issues and new age related issues are coming up. One guy guy the other day told me while i was helping him all out forms, " I do not have issues I have pains". Point taken brother! was my response.
