I would guess that this could be the reason why she was forced to have abortions. King Fahd prefered that the children be aborted.... rather than raised by their mother as Christians like she was. @DennisTate I'm glad to be an Atheist. If you meet 3 Christians, you'll get 4 meanings of how any aspect should be understood in the context of their religion. Same applies to Jews and Muslims.
Quite frankly..... I am glad that you are an Atheist also...... because I tend to have far better discussions with Agnostics and Atheists than I tend to have with deeply religious people. One exceptionally well informed Atheist...... told me that my ideas were considered to be one legitimate part of Atheistic philosophy....... my belief is that Intelligence originally began in fundamental or nearly fundamental energy....... that Life Form evolved and learned and got better and better at creation....... formed angels and Watchers and various species of aliens.... both extra-terrestrial as well as extra- dimensional.... and eventually that Intelligence / Intelligences...... formed at least one Adam and Eve pair...... but I am wide open to the idea that was put forward by psychic Edgar Cayce that there have actually been five major Adam and Eve pairs over the last several million years. Where did Intelligence begin, in matter or fundamental energy?

If... the Jewish and Christian scriptures as they were canonized....... were plain and simple and easily understood teaching about the Father...... the Ancient of Days who Messiah Yeshua - Jesus stated was actually doing all the miracles connected to his ministry in Judaea...... then.......... there would not be such a desperate need for clear and simple teachings that anybody could understand. My theory... is that modern NDE accounts...... is Messiah Yeshua - Jesus speaking plainly of The Father...... The being of light of NDE fame, G-d or Satan?
You write in the past. My belief is that life is still evolving. Evolution will never stop as long as our universe exists. Religious people believe (like you) that life is a constant. Once created and ivariable until the end of time.
In Iran, it is believed that ensoulment happens at 16 weeks (meaning they believe that is when the soul enters the unborn baby). All abortions after that are forbidden with heavy penalities for violaters. Prior to 16 weeks a woman may get an abortion if her life is in danger, or, if she get approval by three specialist physicians, if there is fetal abnormality. I don't know the laws in other Muslim countries.
Change that to: if you meet 3 people, you'll get 4 moral stances on any question. It's not really a religious trait to interpret morality, but a human one. Your pride in Atheism is misplaced in this instance.
