A safe and responsible gun owner or few - not Perhaps you guys need to look through the NRA rubbish and see the truth of idiots with guns.
The NRA tells Americans, people owning guns is good. I think they might be wrong.
Very amusing. And these are the folks who are going to rush to the rescue if there's ever a mass shooting? Great. They're just as likely to cause more casualties and be shot by the real police when they attend...
You pull up a couple of videos from youtube and you try and make an argument about how stupid all gun owners are? How very steriotypic of you, like most anti gun folk. Tell me, do you also see a couple black people with pants low can't speek a lick of proper english and think they are all that wat? Do you see a couple of mexicans pull there cars onto there lawn and think all mexicans do that? No you don't(I would hope!) And being steriotypical about gun owners is the same thing, the people who are in these videos never shot these guns, are more than likely not gun owners firing guns under supervision and there were no casualties. This video was made for the intent of comedy and your trying to use it as a political debate.
There is no percentage in this situation, OP was making a general statement about gun owners as if these videos showed how the rest of us 50 million+ are the same way, even though these people are clearly not owners but shooting under supervision, and shooting higher powered weapons for the first time. That is what I was saying. Not that there should be a certain percentage of people who own guns. - - - Updated - - - There is no percentage in this situation, OP was making a general statement about gun owners as if these videos showed how the rest of us 50 million+ are the same way, even though these people are clearly not owners but shooting under supervision, and shooting higher powered weapons for the first time. Youtube, where liberals get their impression of the Constitution from other lieberals without ever reading it.
Just so I understand clearly, is your viewpoint that ALL gun owners have received training in weapons prior to their purchase, and that NO gun owner EVER has purchased a weapon without knowing how to utilize it? Am I further to understand that - of those owners who purchase primarily for self-defense rather than hunting or sport shooting - ALL of them immediately went and received training in the weapon rather than just keeping it at home "just in case"?
By the way, maybe you'd prefer the video and accompanying story at the link below? http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/lo...AK-47-target-practice-goes-awry#ixzz2ICAOsL7G
That's the problem, media only likes to report on negative, dramatic stories because it captivates the audience. Very seldom do you here anything good on the news about anything. These stories you hear represent but a sliver of the world of guns. The media wouldn't report on a story about people handling guns safely and nothing bad happens because that would be boring to the audiences. You can bring up all the negative reports you want but it is such small fragment compared to the amount of responsible gun owners. Is there irresposible gun owners, yes, again a small fraction, but I still recommend that legislation should be passed for more training once a year to make sure all get correct training on safe keeping, safe handling and self defence. Not bans on weapons that look scary even though they function and perform exactly the same as any other semi auto. I believe that is agreeable across the board.
You mean, like when conservatives use isolated U-tube videos to start a bashing war on President Obama because of a few dumb people (or paid volunteers) are asking for "their free Obama phones,". A program that was started under Bush?
Sigh...the actions of a few do not determine the actions of many. Yes, there are idiot gun owners. There are idiots in all walks of life. You can't stop stupid. Most gun owners are responsible adults.
"Most"? Is that good enough when discussing ownership of a tool that is designed to cause death? How many irresponsible people should be allowed to own guns? Wouldn't the passing of legislation to minimize the risk of idiots having guns be a good idea? Wouldn't this constitute "gun control"?
Does the government have the right to ban things to protect informed adults from accidents that only affect themselves? I would extend this to say that if the accident only affects someone else within a group of gun owners gun owners opposed to such gun control then the government still has no ethical imperative, because the gun accident is not imposing on anyone elses rights. Of course, if you believe in a paternalistic government whose job is to limit our personal choices for our own individual good, then you will likely see things differently.
Beer, drugs and guns. More responsible gun owners. The fact that idiots such as those in my videos and your link can get hold of weapons, suggests there is something very wrong.
Please quote where I said ALL gun owners. I know you can't because you lied, made it up and fibbed. There it goes. The pro gun argument have to lie in a silly attempt to make them look right.
