If Capitalists/Producers had any sense, they would colonize the moon.

With America going down to the Obama-Transformation, there isn't much hope left for escaping the growing hordes of Liberal Parasites...

    UNLESS!

You were completely out of reach, living in a "New Frontier" where innovation, accomplishment, hard work, and self-discipline was still valued, and sloth, vote-fraud, and addiction were not enabled by Redistribution.

Think about the original colonists from the Europe to the New World.

Well, the Moon is currently achievable. The resources are there, and if the money was invested, at least it wouldn't go to feeding the horde of Obama-Parasites.

    Why not?!

If you don't spend it on a Lunar Escape Option, in 10-20 years, it will be "Nationalized" anyway...

And your grandchildren will be FREE!

    Nothing worthwhile is easy...

Elysium...save you money now so you can get out=) Its fairly Anti-capitalist, but its not hard at all to see how accurate a future that movie paints.

No way, there will be a massive depopulation before it gets to that point.

Either war, disease or something else, no chance it gets that impacted and nasty without a major major disaster

Never saw the movie, though I understand the basic plot line.

Those sorts of Hollywood/Leftie movies always take the OWS-Hero viewpoint.

It complete fails for a number of reasons:

    * OWS cowards are great at getting high, crapping on police cars, and performing minor vandalism, but the lack the self-discipline to ever create or even steal and apply a productive and effective military technology.

    * They reduce the Isolated, self-protecting society of producers as nothing but greedy, uncaring, evil, maniacal brutes and manipulators, when in reality, they are loving families and friends just trying to keep their society and its works from being consumed by the parasite horde.

    * They paint the survival of those in new world as some kind of paradise of opulent wealth and ease. The reality is, setting up an initial colony in orbit or on the moon (more practical because of mass for radiation shielding), would be extremely difficult, demanding, and austere. the original colonies on the eastern seaboard of the U.S. had a harsh start, but it would pale in comparison to the spirit, discipline, innovation, and work required to succeed in space. The people of such a colony will be hard, sharp, disciplined, hardy survivors, not easy marks for OWS rioters. The environment of the colony and its surrounds would defeat the OWS rioters long before they even got to the colony.

    * Form Follows Function. By the time any of the planet bound find the will and resources to train, equip, and commit themselves to getting even to orbit, they will have BECOME more like those they set out to attack, than the socialistic parasites they originated from... IOW, in order to achieve the transition to be able to achieve victory over the producers, they would have to become producers, at which point they'd likely ally or join the space colony, rather than attack in the name of the socialist parasites. We see this here in America quite often.

The very same people who are cleaning the Toilets now... who are the same people who have been cleaning the toilets since Ancient Egypt was the world's first super power civilization.

There are, and have always been two groups of people cleaning toilets, and other similar jobs.

    1. The wives/family members/domestics of the individual family unit of common citizens.

    2. Those productive workers who have chosen the profession of janitorial work, do the best job of the task with pride, and expect to get paid in meaningful monetary units of their era for their hard work and productivity.

You seem to be under the misinformation of the Lefties about what Galt's Gulch is all about.

Galt's Gulch is populated by people of ALL professions except Beggar, Looter, Moocher, Leftest Manipulator and the Authoritarian Tyrant.

Of coarse Galt's Gulch has Laborers, though they're prideful, efficient, and professional enough about how they do their jobs, that they embrace labor saving tools like floor buffers, sanitation chemicals, robotic harvesters, nail guns, and paint sprayers.

The laborers of Galt's Gultch are enough more productive, and not burdened with paying for the Beggars, Looters, Moochers, Leftest Manipulators and the Authoritarian Tyrants, that as common citizen's of Galt's Gulch, they get paid enough in stable, valued currency to have good lives!

You know, like the pre-Leftie "Transformation" American Middle Class...

Except lower class people can't survive in a society run on ruthlessly objectivist/capitalist principles. When you consider the fact that charity is verboten in a place like Galt's Gulch, what are janitors supposed to do when their meager wages don't pay for them to survive?

"Who cleans the toilets in Galt's Gulch?" is a critique of objectivism that I learned about a long time ago. If the answer to that question is anything other than "robots powered by an effectively infinite power source" then the society will eventually fall apart. Poor people aren't going to volunteer to be de facto serfs.

BTW do you know what children and the elderly are? They are "Beggars, Looters, Moochers".

Let's put this in context of building a Galt's Gulch on the Moon:

How does a laborer afford the training necessary for space operations? How do they afford the cost of having themselves lifted up there? The only way it could happen would be if they signed themselves into indentured servitude.

Yes, and the landlords of Galt Gulch pay a living wage to custodial people, and forego hiring illegal aliens, because they aren't into making money, they are into creating a perfect world, where the toilet cleaner, the Doctor, the CEO and the Governor are likely to be found in the same foursome at the Galt Gulch Country Club........

What the (*)(*)(*)(*) is this? Capitalists don't colonize the moon because they only care about short-term profit.

The Moon does have minerals that the Earth doesn't (or at least doesn't in any significant amount). Notably iridium and helium-3 (the only substance proven to work for cheap nuclear fusion).

Yes, and the iridium has application in being a converter catalyst from methane to hydrogen gas for electric fuel cells based on a stable, storeable, plentiful, base fuel.

But think back to the days of the launching of the original American seaboard English, French, and Spanish colonies.

America, the new continent did have riches in the form of land, furs, metals... But that is NOT why they came!

The Pilgrim's Promise wasn't riches, it was FREEDOM! It was freedom to worship as they choose, and live their lives and raise their children IAW the dictates of their own consciences, not under the "politically correct" yoke of the King and Clergy.

I contend that by far the most important resource offered by the Moon is that only Producers can and will get there!

Its like the ultimate 100% employed, owner occupied gated suburb!

In short, it is a way for productive people to escape the social parasites of Liberalism!

OP is confusing capitalists with producers and Paris Hilton with success .

Why would anyone join those pigs on the moon , to work two jobs on a wage so small that he can hardly sustain himself ?

You've absolutely nothing to worry about, we were not planning on inviting any Communists to join us....

P.S. I suspect that those who join the Lunar Colony will not have to worry about being "Polar Bear Hunt" punched out and/or killed by roving bands of ethnocentric, anti-white bigoted welfare thugs!

Since most Liberals seem to approve of "Polar Bear Hunting", I suspect you'd find life in a truly safe community boring.

NONE of the early colonies in the Americas were created for "freedom". Every single one of them had a commercial goal as its primary objective. Even the Plymouth colony was originally intended as a pure money making operation, it just happened to land in the wrong spot.

    What do you mean?

Energy to run a Lunar Colony?

or Energy to get the colony seed materials to the moon?

Moving mass out of the Earth's gravity well requires enormous amounts of energy. Hence space colonization is not an economic enterprise unless somebody comes up with a suitable means of propulsion.

Well, that's why you want a Lunar Colony complete with high tech manufacturing on a small scale.

Build your satellites to be deployed around earth, or sent out to explore, on the moon, at the bottom of a much smaller gravity well.

The engineering can still be done largely on earth, then just radio up the specs and designs, and Assemble the Job on the Moon.

Solar Electric Maglev Rail Launcher can then "Fling" them off the moon for Earth orbital insertion, or out to visit the other planets, or beyond.

But where you absolutely have to take mass from Earth to the Moon, use Balloon to carry to high altitude, where a "Delta-Clipper" style high efficiency rocket can get to low orbit. From low orbit, ride a weighted end bob bolo Magnetic-Field-of-Earth cable elevator up to high Orbit, and go the slow boat from the earth to the moon, unless its perishable cargo.

The bottom bob of the cable elevator can include a atmosphere scoop and the top bob can have a solar powered fuel synthesis factory. Upper atmosphere air contains all the need elements to make both fuel and oxidizer.

Since the majority of the energy change is taking place on the solar powered elevator, leveraging against the earth's magnetic field, which is driven by solar power, getting 1000Kg of mass to the Moon would be at a fraction of the current costs.

You would literally be riding Sunlight energy for most of the DeltaVee required to get out of the gravity well.

Getting People to the Moon would still be fairly expensive. Though the dead-mass system could be used to preposition caches of fuel, food, air and water to lower the cost of Human transport. This means that you can afford to take double or triple the Apollo mission time to get from the Earth to the Moon, reducing both the high side elevator Launch fuel requirements and the Deceleration at the moon fuel requirements.

A very great portion of the cost of current space launches is the fuel required to carry the fuel, required to carry the fuel, required to carry the fuel...

from a sea level launch. With the this type of system, you only need the fuel need to go from the top of the balloon's ride, to the bottom of the elevator.
