That is simply untrue. But You don't sound like a person who would be interested in real facts.

 

While I think you are exaggerating to a degree, you do have a point. The Nuremberg trials were intended to set a precedent in an effort to head off the sort of atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis. There were questions raised by some about 'ex post facto' that is the idea that you can't try someone for a crime they committed before the law was passed. One US Senator, Robert A Taft, son of a US President, raised this objection and ruined his political career. He was very much regarded as a leading candidate for President up to that point. He certainly would have been a better candidate than Dewey. Upon reflection Taft is now regarded positively by history.
