Can you provide evidence of such? Since the population is increasing, I would suggest not.

Not the consumers responsibility as far as I'm concerned. You can't expect families to simply spend an extra $50 bucks at a butcher as opposed to a supermarket, it is just not viable. People are greedy and it doesn't start at the consumer and this is where your last quote fits.

You missed the point completely !

The point is that at the moment you are saving this money, in the future when all competition has become extinct, you will be paying an arm and a leg for second grade product. The profit they are losing now, they will redeem in the future.

Granted some people have to do what they have to do. This plays right into their hands. It is commonly called a conundrum, vicious circle. We have a situation right now where cost of living requires wages to increase to lessen the burden on individuals. There is no answer to this other than complete economic and political meltdown. Then rebuild. The crop we are reaping right now was sown over a decade ago, and the one we are sowing now will be reaped in decades to come.

Yes 'we' Australians on average are having fewer children but it is a bit more complicated than that simple statement. Some racial groups in Australia have much higher birth rates that others, some groups are increasing their birth rates while others are decreasing. On average Australia's birth rate is below replacment, in other words any population growth we are experiencing is entirely due to immigration.

In a word garry, immigration. just google 'fertility rates'.

We already are Slipperyfish. Look at the second rate rubbish and garbage that we are forced to buy from Asian countries, because its manufactured exclusively there.

This is just the start, as big business try to improved profit dividends to shareholders. We all know it's happening, as discussed in here regularly, but we just love to pile the sand up around our ears. The old Aussie way of...... if we ignore it, it may just go away.

I can see the day we will be paying $25 for a loaf of bread made in Thailand. Just add water to freshen it up !!!

You have hit the nail squarely on the head!! In 5 years time, we won't own any prime agricultural land to grow our own wheat to produce our own flour to make our own bread. Foreign companies and Foreign Governments are buying EVERY portion of prime agricultural land that comes up for sale. Check this out. They come and buy our companies, and sell OUR sugar back to us, and the profits go back to their countries. LOL LOL

    Oh I See
So more is less, and this also demonstrates the population explosion is curbed? Oh, and by the way, I did not consider that Australia produced all of those 7 billion people? But again, you will complain of nit picking, because you tried to justify your statement of reduced population with family unit size and neglected the fact that there are many other factors.
