Ilhan Omar Trivializes 9/11 Terrorist Attacks: 'Some People Did Something'

next fake insult: "Congresswoman Omar rejects pork sandwhich, chooses chicken instead!!!"


this fake outrage is sooo transparent. And pathetic.

 

It's your choice not to be offended. But it's a choice that I find incredibly hard to fathom. Terrorist jihadists killed American citizens. It wasn't "some people did something.". It has turned out that the far-right was right. This diverse Congress can never represent our views. Precisely because they are minorities. They'd have to betray their own to serve the majority.

 

I think we should invoke Omar's words whenever anyone brings up the tragedy of Heather Heyer or the recent New Zealand episode. Some people did something. If we accept this speech, it's fitting for every such act.

 

I'm not surprised.

However, a lot of New Yorkers are offended or disgusted by Omar's negation of the jihadist atrocity committed on 9/11. So are many of us here in Virginia where the jihadists who attacked the Pentagon in Arlington sent 184 of our family members, friends, neighbors and fellow Americans to their graves.



Nothing to see here. Some people did something. It doesn't matter who they were and what they did - move along...

So it was the Pentagon. I was only 9 years old(living in Pennsylvania) at the time of the attack, so I didn't want to gawk off and be wrong(and yes, I could've used google or something but better to be safe than sorry.) But yeah, even if you weren't in NYC or Washington DC, that day will forever live in infamy. We didn't know if there'd be another attack, or what. It kind of brought back the Cold war days for those who lived through that.

Yup, that's the Pentagon.

I grew up in Northern Virginia and I still have family and friends who live in the area. My father is also buried at Arlington National Cemetery, which is located immediately adjacent to the Pentagon. Had I been visiting his grave on 9/11 the flight path of American Airlines Flight 77 would have taken the plane within a few hundred yards of where I would have been standing.

It certainly is a day that will live in infamy. That was our generation's Pearl Harbor and I can remember it like it was yesterday.

 

Her comments are part of a wider pattern, Ron. Some of her harshest critics are Muslims who don't share her Islamist sympathies.

Ever wonder why Muslim countries never welcome refugees from other Muslim countries? Why do the people fleeing the war torn regions of the middle east make the treacherous journey all the way to Europe, when they could easily emigrate to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and other filthy rich Arab countries. (There are close to 100,000 Syrians in Jordan, but they’re not *in* Jordan, they’re living in tents in a refugee camp.)

His dad is also buried at Arlington.

Soon after the attack, he visited his fathers grave and being a pilot, noticed small pieces of aluminum across the cemetery.

It was wreckage from Flight 77.

 

As a kid I watched from NJ the World Trade center being built. On 911 the wife of a friend of mine died and my friends in NJ and NYC had to live through the horror. My family told me there were tanks protecting the George Washington Bridge, and my ex wife who is from Puerto Rico and not familiar with American politics said she saw Muslims dancing on roof tops in Jersey City after the towers were hit but before they collapsed.

Liberals didn't give a crap about Muslims until after they killed 3000 Americans, then they became BFFs.

Isn't it funny how the left can bring up slavery which ended 150 years ago which no person alive participated in but yet every living white American is guilty of, all while completely overlooking and defending people who are alive today and who continue to slaughter people worldwide all while chanting death to America.
