The protests occurred on the sidewalk in front of a building where Jeff Bezos has just bought three condos.

No one “stormed” anything, contrary to the false hype promoted for fundraising purposes by the anti immigration organization in the OP or the notoriously false Gateway Pundit, from which the story was cribbed.

In fact, this was a localized protest against Amazon’s use of facial recognition software to monitor its own employees and its willingness to share that technology and its use with the government.

If you’re at all concerned about the possibility that the government will know where you are and what you’re doing all day long via facial recogniation software (which the Chinese are actively working on), pay attention to the real story.

But if you just want to indulge yourself in another round of Trumpster mexihate.......

What is so comical is the fact for years the lefties hav been squawking that employeers that hire illegals should be jailed. Amazon takes precautions to avoid hiring illegals and this crap happens.

A brief search suggest that there was a protest outside Bezos' home, part of wider protests against Amazon supporting ICE. I couldn't find any indication that the protesters were immigrants, let alone illegal and they just seemed to stand outside chanting so the headline about illegal aliens storming the home appears to be a deliberate lie. I happen not to agree with them in general principle but don't they have a right to free speech and peaceful protest?

Your source is far from perfect, political propaganda with a questionable record for accuracy. Even if you first hear of a story from this kind of extremist source (regardless of political lean), wouldn't it make sense to do some brief double-checking and validation and maybe launch threads based on a couple of more balanced and reliable sources of information?

 

This is sound advice for everyone, especially the media. They always seem to forget to actually check the accuracy of their stories.

 

The Government does not need to keep tabs on anybody anymore. If they want to know where you are and what you are doing, all they need to do is ask Google, Apple, or Yahoo.
