I do not disagree with your statements however — they law makes a distinction between someone that is aggravating the situation by brandishing and someone that is simply trying to defend themselves. It also will use other relevant information to determine level of guilt or innocence such as can he legally hold a firearm, did he brandish or otherwise threaten anyone with said firearm. His action of continuing to open fire after the threat was mitigated will also play a roll.

I stand corrected. At first glance, it appeared that this kid was out to get into a gunfight.

After seeing multiple viewpoints of the incident, this kid was running for his life as people threw flaming bottles at him, then proceeded to knock him down, kick him in the head, and smash him with a skateboard.

There is a THIRD video that shows him clearly attempting to run from the mob. The first guy shot in the face was the very guy chasing him down through the street.

Only after all that did he pull the trigger?

So he was shot because he was a sex offender? And what precisely were the details of his offense? The shooter studied his victims records before he hit the road with his weapon and used technology to pinpoint their whereabouts? These were designated targets that the self-appointed vigilante took it upon himself to bring to justice based upon his ideology and justice system? Do you go after people you deem fall under the umbrella of your personal justice system?

 

Since when can a 17 year old not join the military? I have a son who joined the Army National Guard at 17 and a year or so later was fighting in Iraq.

 

He was shot because he was attempting to assault someone with a gun.

The fact that he's a sex offender is a bonus, as many people will agree they deserve to be shot anyway.

 

I also joined the Marine Corps at 17.

 

What was he doing prior to them chasing him? If he was just standing there minding his own business then I hope all charges for murder are dropped — but still charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm. If he was threatening or pushing the situation then I hope they charge him with multiple felonies.

Seeing that he was underage, brandishing a weapon, “protecting” a store that he was in no way affiliated with...

I haven't really followed this event but have one observation. I saw a video yesterday of Rittenhouse looking like he was surrendering to officers. The officers would have known that shots were fired and people were hit yet we see him walking pass officers armed with a gun. I'm quite sure that if he was black he would have been apprehended by the officers, Only now have I discovered that he went home

this 17 year old appears to be more brave than military veterans and other adults

there is an unlawful riot on American soil and he shows up to protect people and property, then defends himself from an armed mob.

 

Your attack on veterans seems to be right in line with Trump's attack on John MCCain. So you think that it's a great thing for a 17 year old to start life being charged with murder. He likely will not be convicted of murder but I am doubtful that he will be completely cleared.

My statement is not a defense of rioters or looters so do not go there there.

 

I made NO accusations. Quote the accusations. My description of what I believe takes to be a combat soildier is a general description applied to all I did not specify the kid.

 

Actually, that same afternoon, he volunteered to help clean up the city.

He also gave an interview a few hours prior stating that he was there to protect businesses and assist anyone if needed, with his medkit. He then ADDED that he also brought his rifle with him for protection, of course.

The one dude who was killed (not the pedophile he did everyone a favor by killing, but the other piece of a **** with a three page arrest history full of domestic violence, battery, and weapons charges... its weird all these rioters have arrest records, isn't it?) had his girlfriend on the news and she said that the shooter caught her boyfriends eye because he was standing IN THE BACK looking nervous.

I mean, from everything I've seen and read, this looks like a pretty simple case. He will walk.

 

Good point as I also made. Here is what people who support violence against demonstrators either do not get or just ignore. Kyle had the right to be there but that does not mean he should have been there to get in a position where violence could occur.

 

That is admirable and I applaud you for being a fellow military veteran. I have a lot of respect for Marines. Yet this kid is not a Marine or a member of any branch of the service- yet. I hope that if he ever does become a military member that he learns how to behave in the type of situation he was in. Without disciplined actions and thinking a kid like that could not only get himself killed but also other members of his squad.
