There is a strong likely hood that I will inherit some real estate with a decent value (Over 500,000+ Euros worth). How should I go about robbing society and getting my freebies? Lump sum payment or rent it out? I can't wait to pocket publicly created land value.
Rent it out, but that's irrelevant. The most important thing is to develop a plan to make dealing with peasants a learning experience all around. I suggest doing what one of Terry Pratchett's characters did which was to (translating for current times) install an electric heater element in his limousine and place on top of it a container filled with (allowing for inflation) small gold pieces. Whenever a peasant does something you deem praiseworthy you grip a gold piece with a pair of tongs and then fling it toward the peasant and then watch the hilarity ensue. Good times. Good times.
I almost wish it was farmland. It would have more of an old school feel and I'd ride there with my steed to collect my rent.
This is about $700K in U.S. dollars. So, if you pay your taxes and live a middle class lifestyle, say $50K / year, that's roughly 14 years worth. Assuming you're not 60 years old.... what are you going to do when its gone? If you lived a very modest life, are single, and did not work, you might last 30 years on the outside. If you're 20-30, that means you'll be a middle aged person, without a clue about working or work experience, and suddenly dropped into poverty. Good Going! Until Obama, I was a solidly middle class American. Over my lifetime, I have earned a bit over 2.5 times what you inherited. Think it through. -
I think you should sign it all over to the Benevolent Dictator of our Government to re-distribute as he sees fit.
Turning it into a church and then renting it out, well if churches are tax exempt there, otherwise turn it into something that is.
Indeed. A sense of style needs to go hand in hand with this sort of thing. Personally I feel that it is a case of noblesse oblige to give the peasantry something to remember you by. The old values are the best values. Done correctly and with style they bring a tear of wistfulness to the eye . . . or a tear of something, anyway. All that aside congratulations on your good fortune . . .
If what you're saying is true, put your money where your mouth is and give it away since you're always babbling about how land shouldn't be privately held.
The only result of that would be somebody else robbing society. You are either a parasite or a victim. The system as a whole needs to be changed. But I have still pondered whether I can even morally bear being a parasite even if it's only a means of no longer being a net victim, which I certainly am of the corrupt taxation system. And if had acquired it myself rather than as an inheritance, I certainly wouldn't be bragging about it or pretend that I contribute anything to society as a landowner or pretend that I deserve it. As a landowner one is a pure economic parasite, pure and simple. The more funny thing is that the land is in Germany. I've pondered moving there but I could also play absentee landlord. Shouldn't be a problem since Germany recognizes me as a citizen. Maybe I'll let my sisters have it all since I'm doing pretty well without being a economic parasite. Horse(*)(*)(*)(*). I'm against land ownership. Not against privately held land. Land would be privately held in the LVT system.
Just doing my best to impersonate the economic entity of the landowner: a greedy, vile, despicable scumbag who doesn't give a rats ass about other human beings and only fills his own pockets with unearned wealth.
I don't own land = I'm an envious person I own land = I'm a hypocrite That's what this is going to boil down to, isn't it? Guess I'm just not allowed to oppose our corrupt system of land ownership. LOL
I offer myself to relieve you of this moral burden of being a parasite. Just give me the estate and let me suffer in your stead.
We clearly have a different conception of property allocation. I'd say your best bet would be to sell it and give the money to the government. Gifts to the United States U.S. Department of the Treasury Credit Accounting Branch 3700 East-West Highway, Room 622D Hyattsville, MD 20782 I'm sure there are similar accounts set up by European countries. Nobody refuses free money, after all.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. I might disagree with you, but that doesn't mean you should wait around for society to accept your values - make your preferences known in the here and now!
Depending on what socialist country you live in, the majority of that 500,000+ Euros will be redistributed to others, so you really don't need to worry about it, it's gone already.
I don't live in Germany. I do have relatives there. Germany taxes real estate only at sale. They would consider some of it income though and tax a bit of it. But I've read that there are a lot of write offs with rental income in Germany.
