Trump has allowed a humanitarian crisis to unfold at the border. We could have had a comprehensive plan- Teh Wall!111 for DACA- but his base got wind of it and torpedoed it. This disaster is squarely on Trump.

 

So you think Trump should have fixed something, in 2 years, that has been a problem since before Reagan?

Not sure how the status of DACA would prevent people from illegally crossing our borders.

Actually, I expected **** like this to happen. Trump is a narcissist. They only make things worse. Trump could have easily taken the DACA deal and now could be negotiating about asylum and apprehensions, but he stupidly caved to his base. The GOP has turned into a cult and you can't negotiate with cult members, so there's not much hope of a solution.

 

Actually, it was not completely his base. It was also a mix of Democrats and Republicans in Congress.

The initial deal had 4 items:

1. Funding for wall
2. Path for citizenship for DACA children
3. End lottery program
4. Limit family based immigration.

Democrats opposed and presented a bill offering $25 mil for DACA, but without item 3 and 4. Trump threatened to veto it without item 3 and 4. Bill only receive 54 votes....6 votes short. Not sure it would have passed in the House anyway.

I agree on the narcissist part, but even had the bill passed, I'm not sure it would have changed things on the border....other than maybe walls being built. The DNC has become just as much of a cult. They will vote in lockstep just as much.

 

Ending birthright citizenship would bring immigration to a crashing halt more than the wall.

 

Remember... Democrats say there is no problem at the border. They just sent gavin Newsom to south America to receive bribes from cartels and rally the caravans with promises of free stuff paid for by Americans.

We can't tear families apart, so when the parents are caught and deported we need to send the children with them to keep the family together. It's what the liberals would want

 

The whole wall thing has poisoned the atmosphere so now nothing will get done. Trump had a chance to clear the air and get his precious wall, but he wouldn't take the DACA-for-wall deal. He had to add conditions.

The Democrats aren't a cult because who is the cult leader? They are, however, united in their hatred of all things Trump. Had Obama made a case for a wall, he probably could have gotten funding for it. Trump is viewed as such a racist (I think correctly, based on the man's own comments over the years), that Democrats see a wall for what it really is: a monument to racism.

 

Actually he did offer that but democrats refused. No wall at all.

And an adequate wall will bring illegal spawning to a screeching halt. Build it tall, deep and wide!

 

Kind of like how repealing the 2nd Amendment would have a dramatic effect?

Now... the immigration problem is Trumps fault, after Democrats encouraged them to come with sanctuary cities, voter ids, and social safety nets... screaming about separating children, opposing the wall..

Trump offered DACA for only $5 million and the Democrats farted on it. Maybe if some didn't fart so much, the atmosphere would improve.

Well, Trump did pass some tax breaks that many have been saying for years would help the economy.....and the economy took off pretty much over night. The wall situation, on the other hand, was there long before Trump arrived. Trump is doing nothing different than other Presidents, except enforcing some laws more (catch & release, etc).

Sorry. Democrats made it impossible to get a wall. Their deal was to delay and offer up 1/2 assed negotiations. They got exactly what the wanted. NOTHING!!! They want a crisis. They was chaos. They want as many illegals as possible. They want to change the basic culture of the country which will lead to our eventual downfall and turn us into North Mexico. Because having loads of Hispanics from failed countries will obviously make ours better. Hey you can’t argue with such genius logic Democrats present to us. None of the Americas started out as white majority territory so what is your point? I am Caucasian and never give a thought or worry about which "color" folks will be a majority down the road. People need to get a life if this is the crap that keeps them up at night...seriously!
