There is a toll on EVERY bridge & tunnel to leave anywhere west from NYC all the way up to Albany, and not pay almost $10.

Its almost not even worth it to see the rest of the country, as its free to go east to New England, which starts around 25 minutes from The Bronx.

OTOH, it's impossible to visit New England without paying a toll.....

    Because it's worth it.

    Take it as a blessing.

As long as the Federal Reserve keeps an eye out for the immediate demand of one million of ten dollar notes, the US will always be ready to repel an invasion force.

do you know why they charge a toll to leave NJ? because people will pay it.

srsly. there's no toll southbound on I-95 thru the city, and you are free to use state highways and I-86.

Actually, once you hit Peekskill NY and points north, the tolls are $1.50 for a car if your headed east over the river, (westbound direction is free) but you are correct that all bridges and tunnels have tolls.

whenever i come home from the Catskills or New Paltz, I take the bridge along I-84.

its much cheaper than the Tappan Zee.

Haven't checked lately, but I think you can still cross the Hudson in Albany with no tolls.

Gods above, I have New York roads!

And this is why I live in the south. Everything is cheaper and you've got more freedom to roam.

Multi-culturalism sucks. America is supposed to be a melting pot. Not segregationist. We're all pretty much one people down here. Our cultures cross over a lot. We've got redneck rappers and all that good stuff.
