Voldemort's attempt to kill a baby is what brought his downfall, in an example of karma finally catching up to him. He killed dozens of grown-ups and got away with it, but his attempt to kill a baby was the end of his world.
You're right, movies aren't true. Bad people will hurt babies, and they will beat their children, and some people molest children or put them in child pornography or sell them into prostitution. There are people who are so wicked that people wouldn't believe it, until they are caught. Abortion is just another way to hurt children, which is always a wicked and evil thing to do.
