Stopped by Wikipedia today and they had a big header asking for money... They’ve been asking for a while, too. I guess their independence is not going to last much farther than the New Year. It made me laugh a little. Kind of like the News organizations, they all begin in earnest and they all seem to hope or appeal to other people to sustain them, but in the end Independence is not a sustainable model. Like the Discovery Channel and the History channel- eventually they succumb to the money.
I've seen that too. If they fail then somebody will replace it with a free model again. Back to the old days of "You Got Mail" I suppose.
