I just wanted to see if there is any relationship between people's position on circumcision to their position on abortion. Some of you may say this is silly, that they are completely unrelated issues, but I just wanted to see. After all, both Abortion and Circumcision potentially take away choice from a little child in a permanent way. Both can be perceived as causing "harm". Supporters on both sides have claimed it is "just a harmless little medical procedure". I realize "Abortion" and "Circumcision" can be rather broad encompassing terms, so for the sake of simplicity in the poll, assume that Abortion means abortion of a perfectly healthy normal pregnancy when the fetus is 12 weeks old, and the Circumcision is being done on a newborn male baby. Your opinion might not be an entirely "yes" or "no" answer, but try to pick the best answer that matches up with your beliefs. Please, let's keep the discussion in this thread away from talking about the similarities or differences. I just want to see how people's opinions match up. Instead of arguing, maybe we can talk about why respondents hold the opinions they do.
i support abortion up to the 12th week, and after that but only to save life/health of mother. male infant circumcision should ONLY be legal if it used local anesthesia.
I am pro choice and pro circumcision. But I oppose female genital mutilation as practiced by many Muslims; it is sick and evil.
So why didn't you vote in the poll? I see there are currently zero votes for the Pro-choice, Pro-circumcision option. Did you bother to read my opening post? I made it very clear it was not referring to female circumcision.
But you do realize, from one perspective you're actually anti-choice. The choice of the adults will take away whatever choice the child may ever have, even when the child has grown up.
i support abortion up to the 3rd month, except to protect life of mommy. circumcision should be illegal on infants, unless with anesthesia.
