Infamous uncaught rapist/serial killer "Golden State Killer" likely apprehended after 40 years

I have no article to go on here, this happened a few hours ago and I'm unbelievably psyched and just posting what I know and my sources.

Sacramento PD seems to have captured the guy and gotten a DNA match. In addition, he admitted responsibility for the also unsolved "Visalia Ransacker" crimes which were long speculated to be linked to the Golden State Killer crimes.

Joseph DeAngelo was a police officer at the time of the attacks and was fired after he was caught shoplifting a hammer and a can of dog repellent. His firing, and later the birth of his children, coincide with pauses in the timeline of the crimes.

I've been obsessed with this case for the past few months, and all of the sudden there's a very good probability he's facing justice. Sometimes cops can be good I guess.

 

Glad he's not an Illegal Alien, for in Kalifornia that be the grounds for leniency.

It's odd how some cases become personal for us. For years I followed the case of a guy in Dallas who shot and killed his two daughters, one was nine years old and one was six. They were pleading for their lives ... "Daddy, please don't do it!". I wanted the sick bastard to fry and after 15 years or so he did.
