Yes. What the hell are we waiting for? I am very critical of both Trump and Biden and the medical professionals regarding this. We have a pandemic that is raging around the world, killing millions. Why weren't we working on this from day one? Here we are talking about third booster shots and we haven't even got around to vaccinating young children yet. Now we've got over 250,000 kids with Covid around the country and we're still not giving vaccines to children. Isn't that rather stupid that we haven't got this figured out yet?

 

Lets start with four per year. Would you say 'screw that, not worth it, I'll take my chances with covid' if in order to be protected you needed a quarterly booster, forever?

If not, how bout monthly? Weekly?

I predict they'll increase in frequency from there based on how often people will accept them.

You need to think through what you are saying.

Medical science does not start out testing medicines on children younger that 12 until there is confidence that there is low risk and high benefit.

Let's remember that the full testing for the adult version didn't complete until the completion of the 4th phase of testing and evaluation a few weeks ago. And, that testing started in early 2020. Pfizer and others had candidate vaccines within a few weeks of getting the SARS genome at issue. The rest of the time was in test phases of significantly increasing size.

Testing to full certification took more than a full year. Remember that phase 3 was complete around the end of 2020, making emergency use certification possible.

CDC, FDA and others internationally aren't going to certify these vaccines for use on children until they know they are safe and effective.

 

Why bother with hypotheticals like that?

Yes, I get vaccinated for flu every year.

What's really too bad is that it looks like Americans were so irresponsible about this that eliminating COVID is probably no longer even possible. We're probably just going to continue to have strict laws on yearly vaccination and other behavior.

I answered your central question and dodged the more ludicrous of your hypotheticals without comment.

I'd point out that there are many people who DO inject themselves daily. The idea that is where were headed with vaccine boosters has no support in the real world, though.

We are in worldwide pandemic killing millions on the planet. We rushed through vaccines for adults so why can't we rush through vaccines for children? Why do you want young children to die?

We tested these vaccines for most of a YEAR before they were given emergency certification for use in ADULTS.

Now, testing has gotten to the point where they are accepted for use on those 12 and older.

And, testing on children is in progress, too.


I'm a little shocked here, as there has been a lot of concern that the CDC should be making more progress on the VAERS database, testing crap like ivermectin, studying the lasting damage to humans that COVID appears to be responsible for, etc.

Being a little careful with children seems quire reasonable to me.

Once it's certified, I hope children are included in laws that block unvaccinated individuals from work places, schools, etc.

The pandemic has gone on now for two years under two different presidents and not only have most people 12 and over gotten two doses of the vaccine and now they are talking about a third booster dose, we still don't have vaccines for younger children. I mean we've had a worldwide pandemic killing millions all over the planet and they still haven't got this figured out for young children. Why weren't they working on this two years ago?

How many children have been hospitalised or died from Covid? And then compare with the serious side effects of hospitalisation and deaths seen from having the vaccine? This needs to be balanced. I have not seen any evidence yet that children under 12 should be given the vaccine. This definitely applied to the earlier variants

 

Trump suggested they get vaccinated. Why do you keep on sidestepping the question of getting younger kids vaccines? What's wrong with you?

 

So, you are saying that children are unimportant, even as 250,000 of them are currently hospitalized. You keep on screaming about red state Trump supporters spreading the virus but it is now mostly young children spreading the virus. Trump supporters never did make up the largest number of unvaccinated so why continue spreading that lie?

They were never going to get vaccinated, even if Trump had mentioned it earlier. But, the whole thing is rather moot because the majority of the unvaccinated are NOT red state Trump supporters. The majority are the young, blacks, and other minorities, and young children. Those are the majority of those who are unvaccinated.
