By the way, if the U.S. can survive at such prices for energy carriers (many American deposits), naturally reducing the standard of living seriously (of course, if against this background there is no civil war. CNN — Iran’s government is extremely nervous and has been engaging in urgent diplomatic efforts with countries in the Middle East to gauge whether they can reduce the scale of Israel’s response to its missile attack earlier this month and – if that fails – help protect Tehran, sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Iran’s anxiety stems from uncertainty about whether the US can convince Israel not to strike Iranian nuclear sites and oil facilities, and the fact that its most important proxy militia in the region, Hezbollah, has been significantly weakened by Israeli military operations in recent weeks, the sources said.

The US has been consulting with Israel on how it plans to respond to Iran’s October 1 attack, and US officials have made clear they do not want Israel to target Iranian nuclear sites or oil fields. US President Joe Biden spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, their first conversation in almost two months, telling him Israel’s retaliation should be “proportional.”

Well yah people tell Ukraine too to be proportional in response. Me I think for people not under attack and facing extinction to lecture those under attack to be proportional when defending themselves well honest to God it makes me ask-when they say proportional do they mean, please die quietly and don't blow up the world on your way out.

 

I honest to God Tipper do not know about Iran. Part of me says the rules of Iran are cowardly and weak but puff themselves up through their proxy terrorists to hide how pathetic they are.

The problem is they do have chemical weapons that can wipe out Israel. They have had them for years. They can deliver them on their existing war heads and so part of that posturing with their missiles is that warning. I think the nuke weapons capacity could very well be a smoke screen from that real fear.

However all it takes is one nuke from Iran so in that sense is it toothless? I say the same about Russia. They both try scare using their nuke capacity.

I just do not know the extent of their danger to Israel but I am sure Nato, the US, Israel, Russia, China, North Korea, Pakistan, India know.
