The 2007 surge and Sunni awakening won the war. Iraq was age, secure, and stable with our residual security force in place but Iran was lurking on the border. Obama pulled everyone out and gave the victory and the fledgling constitutional republic away. Truman pulled our troops out of Korea in 1947 and the same thing happened. Truman left troops in Germany and Japan preventing a Soviet invasion. Obama ignored history.

But the sanctions are not imposed by the UN, but by the EU. The EU has no authority over Iran. Hence the UK started with these acts of piracy.
