I wouldn't wish a broken leg on anybody, but I question the judgment of a Secretary of State who, having less than a month before a pact regarding nuclear weapons must be secured, would find nothing better to do with this precious time than to go wandering off on a damn bike ride -- especially given that he had a hip replacement. I've known people who have had hip replacements, and now he'll be virtually incapacitated for a months. Which means that one of those goofy morons on his staff will act as some kind of deputy. Oh, boy! With Obama out jive-assing around on the golf courses, and Kerry half out of his mind on meds, I'll be the Iranians will have a field day with this circus....

You may be right! And nobody will be happier than Vladimir Putin if that happens. Think about it. He already has gained control of nearly everything of political importance in Syria/Iraq/Iran, and if the economy favors higher prices for energy, Russia will only be that much more powerful. I've said it before -- Putin is a master chess player!

I can't disagree, but I honestly do believe that "W" Bush was among the "gullible" who had this lie foisted on him, by the "alphabet" intelligence agencies. In the end, the biggest difference between Idiot Bush and Idiot Obama is that Idiot Bush was an oblivious, unknowing stooge and puppet.

Obama, by contrast, is very well aware of both his real agenda and goals, and he's more than willing to be a puppet for the central bankers who own and control everything, so that he can dismantle the United States as we have known it and bring about his big socialist wet-dream instead....

    OPEC is no more.
Too many producers, too much conflicting interests.
OPEC is already gone like the Syrain-Iraqi border.

You appear to be correct, and the market reality reflects this. Yesterday oil reached $60.83 per barrel (West Texas Intermediate). This is a price increase of approximately 31% since the first of this year.

As I have said, everything is falling into line for Russia. The central bankers began manipulating commodities prices and currency values last August while they tried to project their power over all of Ukraine, led by their stooge junta in Kiev. The effort failed, with Kiev effectively losing the Ukrainian civil war.

That's why we saw John Kerry going over to meet with Vladimir Putin in Sochi last month, with his hat in his hand -- to ask for "terms of surrender" in Ukraine on behalf of the central bankers, in return for Russia's intervention (at a point down the road) to curtail nuclear weapons development in Iran. Briefly then, Putin is in the driver's seat... and Russia definitely benefits from higher and higher energy prices.

Status check: 18 more days until the deadline is reached by which a nuclear inspection treaty must be concluded with Iran.

Does ANYONE know what the hell is going on...? Does anyone know what the Obama regime is doing? Are the Iranian Islamo-Nazis saying anything besides, "You are forbidden to inspect ANYTHING we don't want you to inspect"...?!

Is anyone in charge? Does anyone have a plan? Are all the Western "diplomats" eating caviar with one hand and digging in their butts with the other, and saying, rhetorically, "Yeah, well, (*)(*)(*)(*) it! Nobody else cares, so why should I? Pour some more champagne?" :confusion:

Actually OPEC is in great shape... better than it has been in years. They are letting the market determine price and KSA has given up being swing producer.. At the meeting in Vienna last week, Iran got the silent treatment from all the other members.

Iraq is of no importance in terms of supply these days.. Too much conflict.. and the oil business hates a war zone. Iran's production has been down by 50% for the past two years.. so now they will be exporting 500,000 bpd to Russia in exchange for food.

Well, not exactly Russia needs the ppb to be about $100 a barrel.

Iran did not say they would not allow inspection of their nuclear sites, where they forbid it, as the article said. Now, what they did say, is that their military installations could not be inspected. And that is reasonable, for they do not want planted spies to give us an evaluation of their military.

That might we like Russia, or Iran, or anyone else demanding to inspect area 51 for god's sake!! LOL

We should stick with the facts here, otherwise we are indulging in propaganda.

Iran isn't looking to be an empire. America is the only empire with imperialism, on behalf of our oligarchs. Iran, even if they get a nuke, would only use it to discourage the sunnis or Israel from attacking Iran. They see what nukes did for N. Korea, giving that starving nation a sense of security from the American empire.

Iran, being Persian Shiites, have a big natural enemy, the Saudis. Iran wants security, as any nation that has enemies does. Objectivity here is always lacking when we talk about Iran, thanks to clever propaganda here in the states.

Leave Iran alone, let them get a feeling of security and things would work out a helluva lot better. But we will not do that, not our oligarchy, and not the people here who think this is a Hollywood movie and approach it in that manner.

If we had been interfered with, the way the US interfered in Iran, putting a puppet ruler there, how would the US feel towards the nation that did that to us? Frankly the hypocrisy of America, and the hypocrisy of the war mongers on this forum is dangerous to human life.

Yet we will not allow Iran to have what all nations want, and that is a sense of security. We are such an entitled group of sons of (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)es. Perpetual war for perpetual peace is the height of human stupidity.

So, all the Iranians have to do is designate anyplace they choose as a "military installation" and we must agree not to inspect it...? If we were actually stupid enough to agree to some senseless idiocy like that then we deserve to have the Islamo-Nazis attack us with nuclear weapons.

[IMG] "They've been dumbed-down for over 30 years, but do they really not get "Death to America"?!

The Saudis don't want a thing from Iran.. They don't want their oil or their land ... and they don't want to govern them.

Iran has wanted a foothold on the Arabian peninsula for as long as I can remember...

I do not pretend to know what iran wants
But the fact is that they are shia muslims
And the sunnis are a large majority
So i sorta doubt they are thinking they will be able to take over the muslim world

But, imo, they seem a lot less terrorist or extreme than the sunni islamists like aq, isis and the wahabi and muslim brotherhood jihadists

I'm certain the Israelis will find the way to ruin the potential deal. If they don't like it, the deal is off.

Don't be childish Margot, as if anything changed since 2010. As a matter of the fact, it's only got worse since then. Saudis are more aggressive and militant. Saudis are hell bent on starting a regional war in the Middle East.

Oh, there was a yellow cake!

The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program — a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium — reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

The removal of 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" — the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment — was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.

I believe you are right about Iranian desires for control of Yemen. What I don't understand is why they would want that more than, say, a complete takeover of the Shi'a portion of Iraq. I can see how annexing over a third of Iraq might benefit Iran, but what does Yemen offer, per se? It sits down there on the butt-end of the peninsula, across from two impoverished African countries. Would Iran want Yemen so that they could harass shipping in and out of the Suez Canal? I just don't understand their infatuation with controlling Yemen, but, nothing else the Iranian Islamo-Nazis makes any sense to me, either....

Israel has been claiming for over a decade (every quarter) that the Saudis have Okayed Israeli use of their airspace to attack Iran....

The Saudis are NOT more militant... They don't want Iran to have nukes and they have lobbied for a nuclear free Middle East for over 40 years.

Currently their concern is the failure of Yemen and the fact that it is home turf for both AQ and al Houthis.

Iran does not want control of Yemen. Its geographically pointless to them. Saudi Arabia would like the west to become involved with their conflict with Yemen. The control of Yemen is very much their aim due to its geographical position.

Yes.. Iran wants to control Yemen via the al Houthis minority... They would also love to control access to the Indian ocean at Bab al Mandab and thru the Straits of Hormuz.

They have given the Saudis fits in one way or another since 1962... Perhaps they want control of Mecca and Medina???

I am not sure what the Iranian government wants... When I look at a map of the oil corridor you'd think that if they were peaceful they would be the most prosperous country in the ME and producing 4-5 million bpd per day.

I just know.. that from time to time they stir up the Shia in Arabia and Bahrain .. since I was a kid in the 1950s. By contrast... KSA has spent tons of money for decades making life better for their Shia minority with jobs, education and healthcare.. and they have invested huge amounts of money in impoverished Yemen.

I sometimes wonder if the Iranian leadership are religious fanatics at the expense of practicality.

The Persians have a long impressive history.. and they consider the Saudis backwards.. but KSA has worked hard to make reforms and progress and reinvest in infrastructure and people... while Iran has had 60 years of screwy turmoil... even as far back as Dr. Mossadeegh.

    Ignorance is bliss.
Iran is controlling right now the following countries in the ME: Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen.
The spread of those countries is like half of the US.
If that is not an empire, what is ?
In addition, the Iranian ideology is to spread their religios revolution thruogh the world.
