Even funnier than your Iranian propaganda is your belief that something said by the UN would have any meaning to an American like me. The UN is not only anti-Israel, it is also anti-American. Your country is an enemy of the U.S. Words won't change that. Only actions matter.

A government official or Islamic leader shouting "Death to America"is extremely hard to misrepresent any way you slice it.

If I refer to Iran (or Iraq, Syria, et al) as enemies it is always in reference to the government and religious leaders, never in reference to the average citizen. I understand that most of their citizens have an opposite view, though they can get in a lot of trouble and hurt if they don't join the parade. It is the government, not the average citizens, of Iran that is the #1 exporter of terrorism. It is the government, not the average citizens, that feverishly build nuclear bombs and ICBMs that can reach the US. It is the government, not the average citizens, that make up our dire enemy.

Because we were told they were months away years ago. If they had really been developing a nuclear weapon all that time, they would have one by now. In the hypothetical scenario of them already having one, we would know that they did not develop it themselves since there is no evidence of any kind of them conducting any nuclear tests. With the modern technology of satellite bhangmeter sensors, it is very difficult to conduct a nuclear test unnoticed

Well, they don't technically have a nuclear weapon until after they install the nuclear package on top of a missile. I'm also under the impression that Iran is also heavily invested in missiles and ICBMs. It's quite suspicious.

You're missing the point, my friend. Again, no nation has the nuke till they explode one. Iran may have a dozen sitting in the closet somewhere, but we’re confident they do not until they light one up.

uhh.. no that is not accurate, missiles have had a common use in warfare since the mid 20th century, but the only two times in world history that a nuclear weapon has been used in warfare did not involve a missile, they were both dropped from an airplane. To say that one does not have a nuclear weapon until after they install it to a missile is unequivocally false.

Every year missiles are used in warfare somewhere in the world. Nuclear strikes make up 0% of every missile strike in history, and missile strikes make of 0% of every nuclear strike in history.

Realistically speaking, one cannot develop their own nuclear weapon without having the proper materials, facilities, and tests. As of today, Iran hasn't achieved any of these things, but we have been hearing for the past two decades that they are months away from having them.

Because Iran has had to stop/start development due to international pressure? And Israeli sabotage.

I wouldn't doubt that international pressure has played a very significant role in why Iran does not have a nuclear weapon, however if Iran were actually attempting to develop a nuclear weapon, they would have one by now

It's not that easy, especially when lots of people are out to stop you, by sanctions and by force.

Sanctions make leaders consider the repercussions before making the decision to develop a nuclear weapon, but they don't actually do anything to stop a country from developing a nuclear weapon if said leaders decide they are going to develop a nuclear weapon anyway. Case in point North Korea, once they decided that they were going to develop a nuclear weapon, there was nothing that sanctions could do to prevent them from developing a nuclear weapon.

    Re:
Certainly you've heard the maxim that: "One man's terrorist is another man's liberator/freedom fighter." I think that by the US doing the bidding of AIPAC and the innumerable other Right Wing Israeli lobbies that dominate US Mid-East policy, the US & Israel have caused far more misery and inflicted more regional terror to Mid-East residents than Iran.

Please remember that it is the US over there bombing, assassinating and inflicting misery producing sanctions to them, the regional Muslims.
Iran does not have its forces surrounding America inflicting carnage and destruction like the US does over there.
I feel that a significant US Military presence around Iran does more to recruit anti US-Israeli "terrorists" than it does to deter terrorism/resistance.

What, after all, is America's mission in the Mid-East if not to make the Mid-East safe for Israeli regional hegemony?

    Re:
With all the bellicose rhetoric coming out of Washington DC & Israel (1), (2), can you blame Iran for establishing a deterrent arsenal? After all, both Israel and the US have extensive nuclear arsenal. Can you envision any scenario in which Iran attacks either the US or Israel?

Yes, you could say this if Iran had opened doors to every place the inspectors want to visit.

    They do not.

Perhaps they do or, perhaps, parts of a nuke are stored in various places, waiting to be assembled. Nuke is no longer a rocket science, you know :D

You can claim to be an American but your first loyalty seems to be to Israel's Right Wig war mongers who want America to fight another war for Israel(1).

I've served in combat in the US Army and spent time in V.A. Hospitals where I've seen burned, mutilated and traumatized younger Americans whose lives were ruined only because AIPAC and America's gaggle of Israel Firsters were eager to sacrifice $ Trillions & thousands of young American lives to preserve Israel's regional hegemony.

With America's and Israel's extensive nuclear arsenals, Iran poses no threat to either country. It does, however, aid groups who resist Israel's illegal occupation, ethnic cleansing and expansionism and that's why Israel wants it destroyed.

My first loyalty is to the US and America's best interests are not served by fighting Israel's wars and tormenting a country thousands of miles away that has attacked no one in 300 years.

In fact, Trump was probably our first and only truly anti-war president.
Hence the determination of our military industrial complex's determination to get him out of office.

The war parties have removed the last serious obstacle to war. Brace yourself.

Deterrent??? Iran is the only country that has officially stated they want to blow Israel off the map (though so far they are doing that more conventionally and slowly by giving Hamas and Hezbollah arms and missiles.) Israel's actions are only defensive or for deterrent, except for intelligence and catching Nazi war criminals. Why do you suppose Iran is building ICBMs? They would not need ICBMs to blow up Israel. The only use of ICBMs that Iran has is to reach Europe and the US (and maybe Moscow, but that would be a hypothetical) with nuclear warheads

Nuclear science is actually a lot more complicated than rocket science, especially nuclear engineering. Realistically speaking one cannot develop a nuclear weapon on their own without the proper materials, facilities, and tests. If you disagree then feel free to name someone who has achieved this, developing a nuclear weapon isn't a mere matter of assembling parts together and adding fuel.

That's an interesting point, but it's also inaccurate. There are no examples to date of IAEA inspectors being locked out of active Iranian nuclear facilities, but if you disagree feel free to name an example of an active nuclear facility which IAEA inspectors do not have access to

It wasn't my intent to anger or offend you and I'm sorry if I have done so.

It's because I have witnessed, handled and smelled mutilated and burned human bodies that I am so strongly opposed to sacrificing more young American G.I.s in another war for Israel. Additionally, I have relatives stationed in the region who would be among the first casualties of an expanded conflict.

Now, Israel's war mongers have threatened to attack Iran if the US eases sanctions(1). Such an attack is both blackmailing the US and will certainly cause Iran to retaliate. Such an inflammation of regional tensions will just as certainly cost the lives of young American G.I.s throughout the region as well as those American G.I.s stationed in Israel whose current primary mission is to fight for Israel(2).

Dying for a bellicose foreign government is not what American G.I.s signed up for and clearly shows the destructive influence of the Israeli lobbies who shape America's Mid-East policy.

I understand that this is a volatile topic and would be happy to discontinue this discussion if you like. I simply wanted to explain why I feel the way I do about such a counterproductive waste of human life throughout the region.

Again, I apologize for any anger or offense I have caused you.

    Thanks,

"Remove your sanctions preventing us from making a nuclear bomb faster or we will make a nuclear bomb" isn't a strategy I would employ. America can outlast Iran on this issue. The only question is whether our incompetent president flinches. This is truly one of the vey few foreign policy decisions Trump got right that is working.

The myth that any Iranian official threatened to wipe Israel from the map is just that; another of numerous propaganda myths intended to further demonize Iran(1) by a pro Israel MSM.

Yes, Iran does supply Islamic groups who are resisting what is the most brutal and ruthless foreign funded expansionist agenda and Occupation in modern history.
It is only because of Hezbollah which is considered a humanitarian organization(2) by southern Lebanon's long tormented residents that Israel has not seized Lebanon's Litani River valley as it has repeatedly tried to do.
So, in the cases of Israel's land theft in the West Bank, Southern Lebanon, the Golan Heights and its aid to ISIS,(3) Israel's actions have not been for defensive or deterrent purposes.

    Re:
Probably for the same reason the Israelis have a far more advanced ICBM program if Iran has one at all(4). According to the U.S. Air and Space Intelligence Center, Iran's missiles a better suited for launching satellites than to serve as ICBMs.

Given the extensive sophisticated US & Israeli nuclear arsenal, do you think that Iran would ever initiate an attack on either country especially since they have not started a war in 300 years?

It also has an environmental department and an extensive social assistance program. Medical care is also cheaper than in most of the country's private hospitals and free for Hezbollah members."[126]

According to CNN, "Hezbollah did everything that a government should do, from collecting the garbage to running hospitals and repairing schools."[143] In July 2006, during the war with Israel, when there was no running water in Beirut, Hezbollah was arranging supplies around the city. Lebanese Shiites "see Hezbollah as a political movement and a social service provider as much as it is a militia."[143] Hezbollah also rewards its guerilla members who have been wounded in battle by taking them to Hezbollah-run amusement parks.[144]

Iran does have a space program, which, as noted by the U.S. Air and Space Intelligence Center, potentially “could serve as a test bed for developing ICBM capabilities.” The program also provides engineers with critical experience developing powerful booster rockets and other skills that could be used in developing longer-range missiles. But the presumptive link is tenuous. Iran’s satellite launchers are not ICBMs in disguise." CONTINUED
