Is anyone else just tired?

Everyone here has some passion for their beliefs and opinions, but every one of us feel like this system is working in the opposite direction to the success of our respective nations. This is irrational. We blame each other (or respective groups) for our nations' problems. Additionally, these kinds of arguments are timeless and belong to every society.

I wonder what we are really fighting against. At this point I wouldst be surprised to find some corollary to books like those written by science fiction authors in which the heads of state are really aliens or something. (I don't advocate these conspiracies, by the way). I tend not to believe in the notion that subordinate forces are trying to eliminate us. I think it is more sad than that. We are all destined for failure, regardless of what you try to do or what you believe. I just don't understand why, considering the strength and commitment that any single individual can make.

We are screwed no matter what. We can't force people to do the right thing by limiting their freedoms, and we can't expect people en masse to do the right thing with unlimited liberty.

We are animals with a greatly increased ability to (*)(*)(*)(*) ourselves over. We also do great things, but it seems there is a price of miles of consequence for every inch of progress.

I'm just tired, but I will always fight because I hold the keys of St. Peter for my own life. I can be remembered for all my successes and faults, as long as both are great enough to warrant my memory. As an individual, I will never stop striving to be the best. Then, I won't have to worry about all of you. My best suggestion is for all of you as individuals to do the same. If the consequence is our destruction, then at least we did our best.

    What say you?

I don't strive to be the best and I don't care if I am the worst either.

Nobody is going to run my life, but me. I'm not here on earth for the benefit of anyone but myself and if that's considered selfish, I don't care. I'm tired too but it's my own doing. I don't exercise because it's taxing to do so. If it shaves a few years off my life, why should I worry?

I'm not healthy either. Not that I deliberately placed myself in that situation but I can live with what I have and if I lose it, I lose it. So, when I no longer post here you will know, but not care, that hell on earth has passed me by.

I'm tired, but I can't lie down. We really are at a crux when you look at what legislation has occurred in the last 10 years.

I'd say you need to man up and put your tears back in your purse next to your tampons.

Seriously dude, do you know that somewhere in the world right now there is a young person who just lost both their legs in a car accident and will have their entire life changed? Or somewhere there is somebody being told they have cancer and only a few months left to live.

And here you sit whining about how horrible life makes you feel?

You make me want to vomit.

    Yep, he really got me.

I liked how he countered my argument advocating individual achievement, rather than posting something crude that had absolutely nothing to do with my post.

I guess doing the best you can for yourself is just a stupid idea. Another poster also seemed to have an issue with it.

His post also happens to be the kind of thing that tires me.

I just disagree, is all. What choice do we have? We can drink more of the apathy juice that's gotten us into trouble in the past or we can organize and lean on each other to try and create change.

It is obvious that neither the Democrats or Republicans are interested in trusting their citizens, so why do we place trust in them?

    They need to go.

Well at this point its pretty obvious that the populace is never going to find common ground. Between the democrats, socialists, communists, independants, libertarians, republicans, neocons, tea party, OWS etc. etc everyone is just too stubborn.

We are just never going to get along as long as things are so political. I dont know who is at fault honestly. I think the ultra left communist mentality bears most of the blaim as they just refuse to leave people alone. Most independent, middle of the road democrats, and conservatives just want to live life the best they can and be left alone. The ultra left have become the minature doberman of the dog park just running around getting people riled up and ticked off.

If you ever see homeschooling in massive droves and the return of the family I think you might see some change but its a long process and most people are just not up to the task. Its easier just to complain and not claim responsibility for your own problems inside the home.

But yes I am tired. I dont even argue with people about politics anymore. It just turns into a mess and people just start venting.
