Because Ron Paul needs to be firm in what he says. And he has to go by the laws and the constitution like he says. States have laws against same sex marriage. They have been in place for 200 years. religiously or not. He cant just say "they can do whatever they want".

Ron Paul is against collectivist ideas. He supports individual liberty and the rights of the individual.

To support gay rights or any other collective rights is against the libertarian viewpoint.

Amen! You're right. People with the mindset of Jedi, talk as if gay people aren't near them, in their lives and leading very 'normal' lives.

It's not good or right (even from some "Christian" or other 'moral' perspective), to single-out "gays" and not go after others in this society.

I'll try to put in order of detriment to our society, a few other 'disgusting' human traits or characteristics:

Violence - This nation's hunger for WAR.
Greed - Taking the position that MONEY is more important than people.
Lying - Manipulating policy, laws, politics to attain and hold power in govt.
Hypocrisy - Putting down and vilifying things you're guilty of yourself.
Hatred - Justifying whatever one wishes to say/think within themselves... then 'packaging' that justification to sell it to or act-upon others.

No, not the official or standard definitions of those terms, but certainly what leaps to the front of my mind when I see people indulge in them.

Whatever it is that some disagree with concerning homosexuality... it certainly isn't at the TOP of the list of issues or complications affecting this and other societies most negatively. In fact, I could start a separate THREAD on the problems related to heterosexuals; not to put them down, but to show that they are HUMAN... just as those who are homosexual.

Jedi Miller spoke of homosexuals and associated that with "disgust". Well, I'm disgusted with his/her disgust. We're ALL HUMAN and these days, those who get up on their soap-boxes trying to put down "homosexual" people, are (in my view) so misguided and poorly-focused... it is BOTH discouraging and infuriating. It's not something I'll tolerate anymore.
