There is a big difference.

The KKK was not an army of the US Government. In fact, they have been trying to break up the organization for well over 100 years now. And it was never an attempt at genocide. It was an attempt to force their will upon the blacks. They never had the intent of killing all the blacks.

The genocide against the Jews was done by the German government. It was done "legally" when the government of Germany stripped away all rights of Jews, until they had none at all.

Slavery was accepted by all of the "civilized nations" and predates the United States by hundreds of years. There was no racism in slavery, you all choose to ignore but african americans we're not the only slaves. Slaves might have been black, white, yellow, whatever - the point were they we're not an ally of Britain. You can look that one up in the history books if you want. Also I think your definintion of genocide is off....

Oh but segregation until the 1950's....somehow I laugh when you people think culture that lasted a hundred years (+) can be changed overnight. It took several generations until a civil right movement was even possible, and after that it took another generation or two to actually make it happen. That's politics, new generations bring new thoughts and plans to the table.

What Hitler did was indeed genocide, he killed for racial reasons, and spared no one while trying to build his superior race.

Ignorance is bliss I suppose. Personally I like to look at all sides of history, not just the selective points the government has chosen to be in the curriculum. Take some time and look it up, you'll find that what I said is not nutty, in fact, personal opinion taken out of it, it's pretty accurate.

Oh and OP topic - the KKK is indeed listed as a terror organization, but I don't think it is. It's a hate group. There's some key differences. I think we've gotten to the point where we're labeling everyone that we don't understand a terror group.

 

Negro slavery in the United sates was equal to Jewish slavery in Germany. Both nations were responsibkle for acts of genocide. The sooner Americans deal with this the sooner your nation will be at peace with itself.

Germany didn't take jewish slaves. It's not the same. Germany took Jews, and other large groups of people I might add, and imprisoned them, and then killed them because of their creed, beliefs, political views, and race. Hitler was creating a "perfect race" through genocide.

America took slaves, as did the rest of the world at that time. It was an accepted practice at that time. It was no genocide, it's wasn't even close to genocide. America didn't kill off anyone, and they certainly didn't do it out of racial obscurity. Fact is slaves came of all colors and creeds, you just don't read about anyone but the african americans since they we're the largest population (kinda like Hitler's holocaust where people seem to think it was exclusive to the jews....it wasn't)

Also I don't know what America you've been to but the country seems already at piece with itself. Political bickering, that's just people expressing their rights, and you know in the long run it's one of the things that makes the country great, the freedoms and rights.

Comparing america's history to nazi germany...please. Incomparable subjects are incomparable.

Great idea while we're at it, why not ask Al Quida if they see them self as terrorist? The Answer will be no, the same you will hear from Breivik and any other Terror Organisations. Also does Christian fundies that blow up abortion clinics do not see them self as terrorists.

What is important to know is, that most terror attacks are executed by homegrown terrorists. In Europe in the last years there where many incidents that were classified as "terrorism" and most of it was political and not religious. Keep chasing all the muslims and turn a blind eye to other extremism and you will get bitten.

 

At one time they were, but I think calling them that now is giving them too much credit. Then again, a group who's official attire is cut up bed sheets probably doesn't deserve to be called much of anything.

I can't remember the last time I heard anything out of them, though.

 

Well, if Obama doesn't want to declare muslim jihadist terrorist anymore, then the KKK shouldn't be either.
