A joke played on thirty seven point six million Canadians by a segment of the population of Canada who can signicantly control the media?

(I am picking on my own nation first but as this discussion develops I plan to argue that the same thing is happening in the USA as well........ but of course the situation in Washington, D. C. is a lot more complex)!

Here is another video that explains a bit about how corrupt things really are here in Canada.

If you listed to that video you will now be better able to understand my own relatively pro-life proposal:

The people who can exercise a great deal of control over the media of both Canada and the USA tend to believe in....

    P. M. Pierre E. Trudeau may have been lured into the serious error that he made by in 1974 by his desire to attempt to save the environment of Canada from the segment of the population of Canada who might be termed "Deplorables?"

Now before you Americans laugh too loudly over how dumb we Canadians are you may wish to see a couple of interesting graphs......

Can we learn about the Washington Swamp from the Ottawa Swamp?

One of our somewhat valid excuses is that our climate is TERRIBLE......
    so we are always bored......
and always reading or watching TV.....

and for most of my life I only had one channel so I was forced to watch even rather educational stuff......

    The Canadian Conspiracy (1985)

Much of our humour though is quite tasteless......
I wonder what percentage of a billion or so Roman Catholics are offended by my daring to write the following?????

Might His Holiness Pope Francis nominate me for thirty third level????

I don't think that any politicians want that debt paid off. It creates wealth for too many elites that go in a cycle. Our debt goes higher, we pay out massive amounts of interest. But other countries borrow from us. The debt goes in a constant cycle around the globe, picking up interest at each point. The only way to keep the game going is for the economy to continue to expand generating more and more revenue to keep it all going. It makes the elites incredibly rich and powerful. Of course, it will all collapse before too much longer, and global economies with it, when energy shortage do not allow for further economic gains. Then suddenly we can't even keep up on interest payments, money becomes worthless, and it all crashes.

There's probably a lot of steps in the process I missed or didn't get quite right, but the point is, I don't think there is any serious thought going to paying off the debt, or even slow down its growth.

I do believe that your answer is exceptionally insightful.......
I agree with you that very, very little thought is going into paying off of the national debts of the USA and Canada.....

I am thinking about it though and the opening gambit that I prefer is really going to be offensive to many "Fiscal Conservatives" who think that they understand MMT, (Modern Monetary Theory) and Quantitative Easing and the history of Social Credit Economic Theory as applied in the province of Alberta......
but I don't think that they really know what they are talking about hardly at all.......

    Good question....
for well over two centuries essentially all MONEY has been created as a DEBT....

MONEY is comparable to blood in a human body........ a human body cannot live without blood..... and an economy cannot survive without money....... and so if virtually all money is created as a "debt"..... well................ at least we have not gone into another 1929..... so...... I cannot totally condemn what the major thinkers are coming up with.......

Best explanation for Weimar Republic Inflation I ever read....

Econ4Every1 explained how Canada and the USA sold War Savings Bonds during WWII MOSTLY TO DECREASE INFLATION........
by taking money out of the economy.... at a time when PRODUCTIVITY had so decreased due to the most skilled workers in most fields being sent off to do warfare.......

Nothing is simply what it may appear to be on the surface.....
