Is Trump's election a one-off or does it signify true political change?

For me it does signify a lasting political change, I think that the left and right have become so polarised that it signifies a backlash that shows no signs of abating.

 

Time will tell.

 

I think it's clear that a lot of Americans believe Obama was a horrible president znd that his policies harmed America and Americans.
Thoes same Americans thought Clinton would destroy the country.

Based soley on policy Trump has better thsn both of them.
Conservatives i think find him distasteful and not very conservative.

His best quality is goading leftists to show their true colors.

Democrats want rich peoples money
They want religuous people silenced
And guns abolished.

If you value the constitution you have to vote against them.

More what they've BECOME. I hope it's not what they are now because what I see is mainly just rampant ethnic bigotry. There's a facade of economic issues and low taxes but that's mainly just bashing poor people and that gets back to old fashioned racial bigotry very quickly.

If you talk to Trumpers it gets down to attacking illegals in the first few sentences. I mean come ON, we don't even SEE Hispanics where I live but the Trumpers act like they're murdering and raping in these ravening hordes everywhere you look and they all make VERY clear the problem is ANY Hispanic, not just illegals. Anybody with an accent is fair game and if they overhear Spanish being spoken even in phone announcements god help...

 

I certainly hope he is the one off and my nation is not becoming another of his failed ventures, Judging by his support and the mentality being projected however...I cannot be sure of what is going to happen.

 

Looks like a sea change to me, and a global sea change produced by globalisation. The little people of Europe and America are rising up to defeat an entrenched elite of liberal globalists.

Even if Trump gets re-elected -- and at this rate he's a shoe-in for that to happen -- he's still going to represent a one-off occurrence; much as Ronald Reagan did in his era. This is because both Reagan and Trump are politically unique men, genuinely patriotic, whom consider the future of this nation more important than mere political advantage. That plus both evince a willingness to stand by their principles no matter what. Where politics is concerned such people are as rare as -- say -- a genuinely ethical lobbyist.

What's going to happen is that after Trump the increasingly insane political Left with their aggressive identity politics and contempt for this nation and its traditions is going to retake the presidency, and then the long term and slow motion destruction of this nation begins anew.

Since it is far, far easier to destroy a nation from within rather than preserve and protect it, in the long term the collective Left is going to win. Ironically their ultimate 'victory' will inevitably mean the destruction of this nation. So . . . it . . . goes.

Cult of Personality. One also has to remember that a vast number of American voters did not vote for Trump, and that a number of people voted anti-Hillary rather than pro-Trump. And one also has to remember that the 2018 elections did not show a continuation of pro-Trump government.

The real proof will be what happens after Trump.

I see even greater racial polarization. The racial polarization within the Democratic Party is becoming ever more evident. How much more so in the nation as a whole?

 

"Liberal Elites" seems to be anyone you disagree with whereas in the past politics involved listening and working together to help the population. You and most Trumphumpers play some strange nationalist game at the cost of any concept of unity and cooperation, this seems to be what Trump had hoped for and is bad for everyone including you even though you cannot see it.

No. Liberal elites are those who seek to change the native culture of their countries into multicultural ones. Diversity brings divisiveness. That is as certain as night follows day.

I suggest we try to do a value free analysis of what is likely to happen rather than make this a contest of morality. White people do not consider importing foreigners to be helping the population and they will react accordingly.

 

Actually, it is people who think the way you do that breed divisiveness and by multi cultural it is very obvious you are using code for white because like most of your kind you lack the testicular fortitude to say what you mean.

 

Certainly it is people like me. The question is whether or not people like me will prevail in the long run. And of course I mean white. It is indeed obvious. Will white people prevail or will POCs take over? What do you think?

 

I believe most white people (like me) understand that this world is extremely diverse as far as people and that the progress and connection of the last century inevitably mean homogeny and integration of international relations and populations. I do not fear this reality as you seem to but instead deal with what is clearly going to happen and live my life enjoying it.

 

I think you must be mistaken about most white people being like you. Trump did win the white vote after all. I have no statistics about Europe but I do note that the right wing parties are becoming stronger and stronger each election.

I also note that ethnic hostilities are one of the most obvious constants of history. I think you are deluded about the future. Either white people will prevail against the POCs or the Chinese will become the masters of the planet. And they, to be frank, are not fans of diversity.

Being a conservative, I don't believe in any Nirvanas or Utopias. Such ideas are progressive delusions,as I mentioned before.

Be that as it may, you've lived your entire life in a white-supremacist society which I, as a conservative, want to endure. If you have been disgruntled your entire life, that's a pity. You might have enjoyed yourself what with being well endowed with white privilege and all.
