Islam "to submit" is an ideology, religion, and way of life based on the Qur'an, the doctrine of the sword. Islamism is a recent term to describe the extremities of the ideology and Sharia Law as well, to be politically correct and not offend all Muslims. Nonetheless, how was Islamism formed? Why doesn't the American government recognize what they are fighting? Why are they stating it is terrorism and criminal rather than a declared war by medieval-style mentality? Bush and for a short time Barack Obama, who I still have difficulty recognizing him as a President and a Commander-In-Chief. Obama used his executive power to change things such as the closing of Guantanamo and interrogation techniques. He decided to have a World Trade Centre culprit tried in New York by a criminal court rather than the military. I wonder has the anointed one of Hope & Change stymied intelligence to track the jihadis spread around the world with focus to annihilate citizens of the Satan America. So tell me. Do you think the United States is more safe or less safe than it was 4 years ago- and why? Myself- I think Obama has largely failed on the economy but he has correctly focused attention on pursueing terrorists- resulting in not only the elimination of Bin Ladin, but more importantly, keeping terrorist leaders on the run, and disrupting their ability to communicate. Terrorist leaders know that they can't safely hide in Pakistan or Somalia with impunity under Obama. Yet somehow you think him soft on terrorism?
