Leibermann needs to shut his ugly mouth because it is not for him to decide if Egypt alters the treaty or cancels it all together.

The treaty is only hanging by a very short silk thread and Egyptians will not ask anyones permission to put it's army in Sinai to get rid of the terrorists who set up camp over 30 years Mubarak rule!

Israel would be wise to keep it's head down. Someone needs to tell them that their friend Mubarak is behind bars and I think I am speaking for almost 90 million Egyptians who are reading this news today!

Peace? Who wants peace? Especially with the criminal Zionist regime in place oppressing Muslims around the globe.

    Jihad!!!!! (boom!!)

Edit: Yet another martyre dies in the name of the pursuit of justice. Peace be upon him.......as they are cleaning up his peices.

I know it is a strange and unfamiliar concept to you, but peace treaty means that all sides must respect whatever was signed.
If Egypt decides to ignore parts of the treaty, That might lead to war.
I know you are craving for one, but believe me, war is not a pretty sight.

Peace that you pay for never lasts long, history is filled with examples. That is exactly what the treaty of 1979 was, a treaty of peace that was bought and paid for not a treaty agreed to by the people of Egypt.

There already are security changes - Egypt has a lot more forces in sinai then they should by the agreement - but that was done in accordance with israel, not as a one sided decision.

You know how treaties work. Sometimes they need to be revised? Look at what the United States did to the American Indians. The peace between Israel and Egypt was not a peace treaty that the Egyptian people had a choice in thus your country may soon be at war again. It appears the a lot of Egyptians were never happy with the treaty. To answer your question, no Israel never should have traded land for peace. Land is a material thing, peace is a much more intangible item.

You are right of course. LOL, poor Palestinians, Egypt is digging their proverbial grave. If anyone ever needs to know why Israel is not anxious to get into another land for peace treaty they will only need to look on how Egypt [dis]honors its word, commitments, treaties.

Perhaps Israel should revise the treaty by reoccupying parts of the Sinai to stop terror. Clearly Egypt has failed despite troop buildup. These revisions can go both way, you know. You and Abu should never forget about that, you will get more than you bargained for, just like you did in previous confrontations with Israel you started. You broke the armistice agreement and closed the Straits to Israel's traffic for exactly same reasons you want to revise the treaty now. How did that work out? ;) LOL

A peace treaty is never done by the people.
    It's done by governments.
The people has no say in that.

Reoccupying the Sinai would be an excellent idea. Can't you see that?

Don't confuse me with Abu, in this I'm not really on his side either. Seems to me that if all the crazies over there were to run out into the desert and shoot one another mankind would be far better off in the long run. Time to cull the herd again. WHOOOHOOOO!!

Really? I'd say it would depend on the people either way. This comment is in no way referring to reality.

Well Abu, if your country cannot handle Sinai, Israel sure can.
The treaty change is: that Israle will make some order there.
Israel will not put more security people than was defined in the peace treaty.

See this is much simpler than what you are offering. No need to change numbers, just replace the name Egypt with Israel.

Before you get too cocky about abrogating the peace treaty, remember that there are US troops in the Sinai as a trip wire. If Egypt wants out of the treaty, they need to formally withdraw. Sending troops barreling into the Sinai risks armed conflict with the US. That's going from ally, to non ally, to target pretty quickly.

Yep and then there is the total loss of 3 billion in aid, along with having to fight a losing war with a superpower sponsor and Europe. Egyptians hotheads can scream Tota! Tora! Tora! all day long, but the reality of dying from starvation while being bombed should wake up the normal Egyptians to reality.

I suppose some Egyptian muslim nut job will come along here screaming in all caps that they don't need Western aid. Fine. Your population has far outgrown the capacity of your country to feed all of it's people and you are free to explore life on your own with a few garbonzo beans a day, while being bombed.

I'm amazed the Israelis have kept Lieberman as Foreign Minister as long as they have. It's almost like they have given up on try to reach a modus vivendi with the new Egypt and are just positioning themselves for the coming propaganda battle and more inside Israel than globally. Right now Egypt has a government that doesn't like Israel but which does realize the economic benefits peace helped bring them. One wing of that government is probably willing to trash the peace treaty while another part feels it should be re-negotiated but it is worth keeping. Why on earth is Israel encouraging the treaty haters?
