This despite the fact that half the doctors graduating from medical school now are women, and the overall field of Obstetrics and Gynecology being more of a female dominated area (70% of OB/GYN doctors are women). And when it comes to abortion providers who perform abortions after 20 weeks, the figure drops down to 15%. This figure is difficult to determine, but if we look on Abortion Clinics Online, out of over 239 facilities, the website lists only 19 facilities which have female abortion doctors, thus implying that less than 8% of the advertising facilities offer female physicians. And that's not all. Abortion doctors who are men are more likely to do a substantially higher number of abortion procedures each day than their female counterparts are, running female patients through their facilities like a mill. I wasn't able to find exact statistics so I visited four offices and talked to the receptionists at the desk and told them I was doing a survey. At the providers with male doctors, the receptionists estimated the doctors saw about 10-12 patients a day. For the female doctors it was 6 patients. This is hardly a study but it gives you some idea. So why is this an area women are so reluctant to get into, do you think? After all, abortion is a very female thing, something that's so important to women we are told. Why are women so reliant on men ?? Seems like women want their abortions, but when it actually comes time to doing the deed themselves they start to get a little squeamish.
