I said nothing about taxing them less, I think what's in place is sufficient. We would have to look out for loop holes, that I agree. Many small businessmen do not have the fancy accountants the wealthy do, but if we are going for the long haul we have to do something altogether. What Obama is trying to do is just put people against one another,,it's shameful...

Business done right is the only real solution; I agree.

It's what we do the best. If we can figure a way to keep what we have and attract more than that's the ticket....as far as the poor situation I would go big into trade schools, all those that dropped out can earn a much better wage with a trade, and sorry but if they do not want to improve then THAT'S on them!!! orrrrrrr, we could be like Greece and just go BUST!

And you can determin that as a % of your income with a minimum. Several countries in the world have such a system.

Marine1 should know that over the past 3 decades the very wealthy have got quite a bit richer in real wealth terms (all assets minus all liabilities, adjusted for inflation) while the merely rich have gotten a bit richer and the remaining 83% of us have, on average, not gotten any richer at all in terms of real wealth. The flaky left might want to punish the very wealthy; I just want them to pay their share and not have the real wealth gap widen (a fact that massive lefties like Allan Greenspon and Warren Buffett have publicly stated has happened).

Reagan had some successes eliminating loopholes, but the IRS Tax Code of 1986, created by the Tax Reform Act of 1986 also created the current code still riddled with loopholes and other methods of tax avoidance.

Yep. Neither of you should be fined at all.

I have no problem taxing the rich more. The tax rates now aren't that high and they are much lower for them with their tax loop holes. Here are the tax rates going all the way back to 1916. I don't believe in taxing them as high as they were in the 1950's though.
