EVERY politician you ever knew lied to you. EVERY ONE. Hillary was the alternative- not only a highly skilled liar, but an out and out crook. You should be grateful that she didn't win, because we would be far worse off today. Jesus was not on the ballot- and politics is such a dirty game, a nice guy who never lied and wasn't tough as nails would go down in round one- every time. The real cause of the difficulties we have politically and in general- is the low average character of our people, and that is getting worse; it has been in decline now for 40-50 years.
People now thrive on the belief that we are entitled, we deserve, we've been cheated, somebody owes us, we are poor only because someone else is rich, and there is nothing wrong with anybody we like and everything wrong with those we don't- who can be identified by the fact they don't tell us what we want to hear. Pride in who you are and your country is being shamed by these politicians because that is a sign of strong people... and that is bad news for crooked politicians. Weak people do what they are told- and they sell their freedom to those who promise them free stuff and caretakers. A lot of them may be intelligent- but they are not wise or smart.

Fact: What ever the political mess is- WE are the ones who made it what it is. Voters. Too many are weak people, avoiding responsibility, always looking for the easy way, never really asking themselves if they can honestly respect who they are. They are the ones who buy the BS, they are the easiest to deceive.

Only fools blame others for their own positions and conditions, and in so doing abdicate the power to control their own lives. That INCLUDES how we vote.
We do need someone to step up to the plate and set the examples for responsibility, integrity and justice. Unless we the people decide we want and will follow that kind of person- we will elect something less.
We can have good politicians- if we refuse to settle for less.... but the fact is we want politicians who are con-artists and snake oil salesmen pretending to be honorable, who will give us what we want at somebody else's expense. If the character of government sucks- it's because the character of the people is low enough to elect just that.

It's unfortunate that you can't see the complete picture and accept the facts you don't want to hear. But that is your personal part of the mess that politics is today.

 

Why do you dismiss Hillary, when she was the alternative to Trump?
Trump is president because Hillary was the alternative- and enough people recognized the situation and concluded that Trump was preferable. Be grateful- things would have been much worse if they hadn't.
