I just purchased an old depth finder for my dad for his old boat. I tracked the item and it showed out for delivery today. Well, I was at work and so when I got home, the item wasn't in my mailbox but a notification of "postage due" for $1.76 was in the mailbox with a little envelope. I already paid almost 11 shipping for this item. What do I do? I'm asking for a refund from the seller for this amount and so far, he's making excuses and asking questions. I've opened a case on Ebay against him. It also took a week and a half to get here. Ordered on March 6th, didn't get here until today. For 11 shipping, that's just too long to me. But that's not the issue, I want my item. I paid for it.
You should get the 1.76 either from the seller or ebay/paypal will give it to you as part of their guarantee, but, you won't necessarily get that until after the full dispute window elapses.. A certain amount of days are given to the seller to pay that or not. I have been through things like that and ebay do have a fair policy in this regard; the full shipping is meant to be in the description so it wasn't as advertised, I have no doubt they'll refund you it if the seller won't. If you want the item in the mean time just pay it out of pocket for now, and await the eventual reimbursement for later. Make sure to leave honest feedback once it is closed up, obviously that would be negative!
