In my first installment of what may become a long-running series, I bring you news from an English source that I think provides accurate reflections of Japanese perspectives of the news. My first thread!

So how do you feel? Also off-topic but what's the general consensus about us troops in Japan? Are they not wanted?

I agree that the world needs to be careful with Iran. Korea, Japan, and China get oil from Iran, and a lot of it. I think Japan gets somewhere like 10% of her oil from there!

As fort he troops, the Okinawan people voted for a leader who opposed the bases. General polls show that they're unwanted. I want them out. Most debt-fearing Americans should want them out. I'm not so sure why they're still there!
