He'll spend his entire campaign trying to distance himself from his own last name.

With all due respect, I can hardly understand what he counts on.
As a person who won the governor elections in Florida in more than doubtful circumstances, who has discredited himself for many times he is not someone who associates with "decent president" to me.
Is it a stupidity, a fraud or something else?

I'll give the GOP credit for one thing, they sure do make their primaries entertaining. I much enjoy watching the hilarity that ensues from their gaffes.

Not sure if you intended this to be a joke, but it's funny as hell.

Go figure. Next thing you know you'll be telling us Hillary is running too.

The cast of usual suspects clearly shows no change in sight, just more of the same old/same old, corruption and cronyism.

For some of these folks it is just another job to make money and pay their expenses for being a political celebrity at somebody else's expense. 5 star hotels and 5 star restaurants in their future but no real chance at the presidency. Those things are decided on a country club golf course, not in an election booth.

Is a candidate whose two big issues, common core (unpopular http://www.theatlantic.com/educatio...-core-is-becoming-even-more-unpopular/378865/)
and amnesty for illegals (even more unpopular http://www.gallup.com/poll/4852/americans-clearly-oppose-amnesty-illegal-mexican-immigrants.aspx) really going to attract the conservative vote to him?

It's too absurd to even comment on. Obviously Bush and handlers have convinced themselves they can create a call for something no one wants.

    Quite so.
It will be very, very hard to run for president while carrying around the ghosts of his brother's disgraced presidency on his back.

The clown car is at the starting line and revving up!

So far, we've got Jeb Bush, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Chris Christie, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz, fresh off his latest venture sticking his finger in the eyes of his own party's leaders!

Not to mention Ben Carson, who's sitting back while a bunch of con men make money promoting a fake Draft Ben Carson for President "campaign".

Roger Ailes is not doubt salivating at the ratings boost he'll get promoting each one of these losers in turn!

And the rest of us will need a laugh track!

All Jeb has to do is split the Tea Party/ditto-head/"pure conservative" vote among 4-5 other candidates.....and keep all the "RINO/Establishment...aka Sane" Republicans for himself.

He then wins on plurality.....winner-takes-all delegates.....and uses Big Donor money to run negative TV ads against any candidate that comes in a "close 2nd".

Once he locks up the delegate count....even "We Hate RINOs" Rightwing Media like Glenn Beck will flip and first start attacking his Democratic opponent....

and by Labor Day? Rush Limbaugh will be calling him "Reaganesque".

Same pattern we've seen for years.

    - - - Updated - - -

    "disgraced presidency"??? Dubya????

Look what happens to your fellow Rightwingers whenever somebody goes after Bush or Cheney.....they defend them to the death.

I thought it was just Santorum, Perry, and Bush that have confirmed so far.

Has Christie, Cruz, and Paul confirmed as well for the clown car?

The Big Boys at the RNC will anoint the Republican Nominee (if they haven't decided already)....same as always. And it'll likely be somebody who has "gone RINO" on occasion....even Scott Walker has.

    - - - Updated - - -

Christie is about 90% sure.....Calgary Ted is 100% sure, otherwise why would he be burning bridges with Republicans in the Senate, if not that he wants to woo "anti-Establishment" primary voters....

Rand? Running for President? Well as Hank Jr. sang...."It's a faaaaaam-leee tradition!"

Whatever you need to tell yourself to sell your little hypothetical to yourself. The very name of Bush is repugnant and
there are other better candidates to do the bidding of the Chamber of Commerce wing of the republican party than Jeb effin' Bush.

    Bet?

Go to "Political Beliefs" and do an OP entitled "The Bush Presidency was a disgrace" with elaboration on why you believe that. (No equivocation or "Though he did do some GREAT things too" CYA).....

and see who tears into you.

    - - - Updated - - -

If Christie wasn't running...he'd squash talk of him running and be talking up Jeb or somebody else.

Cruz is OBVIOUSLY running....otherwise why his "burn bridges" strategy with his own GOP Senate?

Rand.....come on? A Paul NOT running for President would be like a year without Fox's "War on Christmas". :)

I'm not interested in biased partisan defenders. So people will defend Bush.

    So what?

Jeb Bush is the strongest general election candidate the republicans have. Which means the republican base will be tripping over themselves to not elect him in the primaries.

    - - - Updated - - -

I think dubya was one of the worst presidents of modern times. But I have no direct issue with Jeb Bush other than he's a republican whom I disagree with on a lot of issues. I think he'd make about as good as a president as Mitt Romney would. Which is not good but not country destroying terrible.

I disagree of course and statements like this before the candidates are even known is definitely premature.

Given the father and brother of Jeb Bush I think we know exactly what we are getting and we indeed see it in Jeb Bush's track record. He may be the sort of candidate some democrats could kind of stomach
but I'll be shocked if republicans feel the same way about this classic RHINO Trojan horse.
