So looking at this from abroad. As far as I can tell if Donald Trump loses the election he has about 10 weeks before the next president is sworn in.
A kind of limbo time or dead space.
However during that time he could declare a state of emergency, start a foreign conflict, even initiate a nuclear strike and basically lash out possibly in a state of tantrum, or possibly as a distraction.
Is there anything in the American constitution or system that might restrain any outgoing president?

There is little doubt that the chaos, name calling, dismissal of experts, and management for short term political gain will continue.

The Trump Campaign and the GOP are prepared to file nuisance suits in just about every battleground state to insure that not everyone will get counted.

They’ve been trying to suppress the vote in various ways for years, but have devoted extraordinary effort to the cause of interfering with elections this year.

He incited violence during his 2016 campaign and has either ignored or excused it on his behalf ever since.

Contrary to your false claims, much of what people predicted about the Trump Presidency has turned out to be true.

The only miscalculation seems to be that people consistantly underestimated Trump’s preference for going low.

The last time that a sitting President of the United States ordered Federal forces to fire on a peacefully assembled crowd, lawfully assembled, was in 1932.

He didn’t “move a crowd back”./

The attack was deliberately ordered on half hour BEFORE the curfew was to take effect. No one attempted to inform the crowd that Bryant Park would be cleared so that it could be surrounded by temporary fence (which would be taken down in two weeks).

There was no rioting until after the President’s unlabeled Federal forces started shooting.
