John Bolton denies claim Trump disparaged fallen American soldiers in France: 'Simply false'

This fake news story is falling apart with witness after witness saying it didn't happen. Even Bolton no friend of Trump denies it occurred.
Biden on the other hand is beating this fake news story like a drum and making a fool of himself in the process showing he's unfit for office. Is this how he'd run the country? Some fake news story comes out with no credible source about some world event and Biden reacts as if it's fact? That's a dangerous man and not a man who should have his finger anywhere near the red button.

It is pitiful that this is how low some on the left and in the media have sunk ---- literally manufacturing lies ---- and equally pitiful that Trump haters will believe this kind of nonsense, no matter how far fetched.

They are even trying to suggest that if you check on the status of your mail in vote, it's a felony

 

I expect more of these fake charges and am surprised this one wasn't saved until just a few days before the election when there was no time to disprove it.

"The Atlantic" is a conspicuously liberal magazine. The inevitable product of "Schools of Journalism" in American colleges and universities. I've watched this 'drift' to the hyperliberal Left all my long life....

And even a million years ago, when I was working toward getting my Bach. of Science degree (so I could earn a good living), I watched lots of these self-anointed, 'intellectual' aesthetes cluttering the campus of the University of Texas (at Austin). Back then, they were bitching with justification about the Vietnam War. Today, they just bitch, bitch, and bitch some more -- about EVERYTHING, real or imaginary -- because it's all they know how to do....

The ones who hung around at college long enough eventually got even more useless Liberal Arts degrees, and eventually some were lucky enough get fun jobs writing drivel, propaganda, and other carping fiction for publications like "The Atlantic".

He didn't deny it was said - he said he didn't hear Trump say it. Very different.

Bolton, who published a book earlier this year that was heavily critical of his former boss, said the alleged remarks sounded accurate.

“I have not heard anybody say, ‘Oh, that doesn’t sound like the Donald Trump I know,’” Bolton said in the interview. Bolton said the remarks may have stemmed from Trump’s skepticism of U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“He was prone to say from time to time: ‘What did they get out of it? What was the worth of the war in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan?’” Bolton said. “That is a kind of insensitivity that Trump does have, there’s no doubt about it.”

Bolton was on the 2018 trip to Paris with Trump but said he didn’t hear the president disparage the dead Marines himself.

“I didn’t hear him say those things,” he said, adding later he probably would have included the remarks in his book if he had. “Now, did he say those things to other people later in the day? It’s certainly possible.”

Asked whether Trump has high regard for the military, Bolton said, “I don’t think he really holds anybody in high regard except his family.”

“According to what that article said the president made disparaging remarks about our soldiers, the people buried at the Aisne-Marne cemetery in connection with the decision for him not to go to the ceremony that was planned that afternoon and that was simply false,” he said. “I don’t know who told the author that but that was false and I recounted that in my book, ‘Room Where It Happened’ and reaffirmed that in response to questions, the next day.”

Bolton also rejected Fox News Channel’s Jennifer Griffin’s report that supposedly confirms The Atlantic piece.

“Well, she’s just flatly wrong,” Bolton said. “Look, I can tell you exactly what it was. We were in the Ambassador’s residence in Paris. We were supposed to be having a 10:30 meeting to brief the president for his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at 11. The president was late, which was frequently the case. I don’t think the entire fair lasted more than 10 or 15 minutes and the main issue was whether or not weather conditions permitted the president to go out to the Aisne-Marne cemetery. The people I recall being there were John Kelly, one of his aides, Mike Pompeo, myself, Jamie McCourt, our ambassador to France.”

“We had this discussion, it was mostly John Kelly presenting the logistical reasons why the trip couldn’t take place and the president assented to the recommendations that he not go,” he continued. “He didn’t protest that he really needed to go. He just sort of took the facts as they were, a very straight weather call. After that meeting just for what it’s worth, we then went to the Elysee Palace for the President to meet with Macron. That lasted until about 12:45. The two presidents were joined by the two first ladies for lunch, just the four of them that lasted into the afternoon. The president then went back to the embassy and a dinner that night for the heads of state who were attending and that was the schedule that day.”

There are 2 Issues.

1) Was it a "weather call" not to go to the cemetery?

2) Regardless of whether (or not) Trump decided not to go to the cemetery for various reasons (weather, etc.) that DOES NOT Mean that Trump never made those disparaging statements about the Military.

Tl;Dr--Trump 's "defenders" are trying to conflate 2 Issues in an Utterly FAILED Attempt to absolve him.

 

I've learned to employ a tool that I use.

If it’s a really crazy statement and just comes out of the blue with little to no evidence, it’s probably BS. I’ve also learned to tune it out. I’ve realized that over the last 4 years to judge Trump on this action in the WH, not what he has or hasn’t said. Well were on the topic of actions, Biden accomplishments. He has been in public office for 50ish years, why isn’t he running on his accomplishments? The only ads that I’ve seen up to this point are attack ads nothing of this is what I’ve accomplishment in my time?

 

Every time the DP's MSM is exposed for spreading obvious Fake News Trump's immunity from the DC Swamp Virus increases.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there were probably no "anonymous sources" and this was nothing more than a made up hit piece to try and stop Trumps momentum against Biden.

However - now that the lie has been completely exposed for what it is - the whole things seems to have backfired. All the democrats did was piss people off. The journalist ruined his career.

 

He is saying the story about Trump's visit to the cemetery was false - he didn't say that the reported comments about dead soldiers was false. In fact, he said they sounded believable, even though he didn't hear them.

But hey - good to know you believe Bolton told the truth! Maybe now you'll believe the other things he's had to say. Or maybe you're just cherry picking truths as they fit your narrative?

 

Nobody has come forward as a witness to the Atlantic article. Several have come out against. The Atlantic is a liberal rag. We can just leave this garbage there.

 

Again - these are about the trip to the cemetery, not the comments Trump allegedly made. Two different things.

 

I didn't hear anyone say Joe Biden is a pedophile but that doesn't mean it wasn't said. I mean look at his behavior - it follows a pattern - the inappropriate touching - the hair sniffing - etc...

 

Huh? Read the quotes, read the quotes in the link...they are discussing both.....there are also quotes refuting Bolton's claim that nobody is saying it doesn't sound like Trump.

Face it, this was a bold face lie...and it's been throughly debunked.
