Judge approves plea deal in federal civil rights case against Chauvin | MinnPost

It appears that Chauvin is taking a plea deal to avoid a life sentence.
This coincides w/ his effort to overturn his state conviction.
I am surmising that he would rather serve his time in the federal system instead of the MN State Correctional Prisons.
    Thoughts?

ruins the state case if he pled guilty at the federal level

    finally

"Chauvin pleaded guilty Dec. 15 to violating Floyd's civil rights, admitting for the first time that he kept his knee on Floyd's neck — even after he became unresponsive — resulting in the Black man's death on May 25, 2020. The white former officer admitted he willfully deprived Floyd of his right to be free from unreasonable seizure, including unreasonable force by a police officer."

Well, I think that he is trying to cut a deal so he can serve his time at Club Fed instead of the State House.
    Makes sense.

Yeah, He finally did admit that he was in the wrong.

    Ya think?
He expressed that sentiment 6 MONTHS AGO:
Derek Chauvin wants to go to Club Fed: George Floyd' killer WANTS to be sent to federal jail - even if it means a longer sentence - because it's safer and nicer than state prisons

Thx for the Original Hot Take...

Clearly an attempt to cut a deal, though I’m sure the left is completely unaware.

Yes unaware as no doubt so many on the left are since they didn’t really pay attention to the facts of the case
