Op was talking about a wall. Why are we talking about a wall? Illegal immigration

A Democrat line is that all/most illegal immigration is overstaying visas so how can there be a surge at the border? Also if Trump created it why was he talking about building a wall in 2016? Did he have a crystal ball or was it already an issue prior to him?

Why do the pro wall do nothing else crowd have such a hard time with definitions?

If we wrapped a wall around America that was not scalable with no breaks, we would still have over 60% of illegal immigration that flies in or entrees at checkpoints. Since no one is proposing a full wall this number skyrockets. Why spend billions of dollars on something that will only hinder — not stop — a quarter of the issue?

The facts disagree with you, the San Diego wall reduced illegal crossings over 90%, similar to the wall in Israel.

As Milton Friedman said, you can't have both open borders and a welfare state.

Anything done is an improvement and I don't trust your numbers given the whole crisis on the boarder and all. Also another reason is I'm positive poor and working class families are footing the bill for these illegal aliens.

If ridiculous solutions that will be costly or ineffective are proposed for ‘climate change’ then I would be against them also.

I don’t think people are really causing climate change to a significant extent — it’s definitely happening as it has since the earth was formed — but we definitely need to control pollution and waste across the board.

Judicial activism. It will be overturned but time will have been lost and that's the real goal here. The DNC and its judge pool are betting they can run out the clock on term 1 in the hopes that term 2 doesn't happen.

 

It will certainly focus the stakes of the election. Trump's immigration positions are much more in tune with voters, who reject open borders and Sanctuary Cities.

There is anywhere from 11- 22 million illegal immigrats in America now.

It cost Americans on average 11,777 per student for a prek-12 education so let's say 4 million of that 11-22 million are children that works out to 5.8 billion law abiding tax payers have to pay out.

Also I couldn't find an actual incarceration rate for illegal aliens because 49 states don't record that data so I'll use the us average which is 7.6%. let's say there are 7 million adult illegal immigrants multiplied by a 7.6% rate gives you 532000 illegal immigrats in jail with an average sentence duration of 1,915 days. It costs America $94 a day to jail someone so it costs roughly 96 billion dollars of tax payer money.

That's just the start and who pays for it all? The middle class
